Welcome New Team Member, Cheyenne Davis
Cheyenne was our top candidate for the Program Assistant position left vacant by Jamie Park. Cheyenne will start in our department full-time on March 16th. Please welcome her to the department when you have an opportunity.
Here is what Cheyenne wanted to share with her new colleagues:
Hello everyone, my name is Cheyanne Davis and I am 19 years old. I graduated in 2018 from Eaton Rapids high school. I have a 10-month-old daughter named Nova. I was in 4-H for 7 years showing horses and I took away so much from it. I’m very understanding, and highly motivated and fun! I am also in college but I don’t know what I want to do yet. A couple of things I like to do in my free time is watch Netflix, read books, and play with my daughter
District & Department Updates
- Communication Reminders: District standards for e-mail is 24-hour response time to e-mails that should be replied to. This is a difficult standard during certain times of the year, but please make an effort to stay in these parameters as much as possible. Remember to proof-read external e-mails especially.
- Getting in touch with me: If you have something that requires attention the same day and we aren't going to see each other, send me a text. If your question/update can wait 24 hours, an e-mail works great!
- Expenses/Mileage: Due once per month. For example, turn in your March mileage/expenses by April 30th.
- In-State Conferences: These need to be turned in 3 weeks ahead of time to get the appropriate signatures and to work with the hotels on your overnight accommodations.
- Out-of-State and other Board Requests: Most full time, certified staff have the budget to attend ONE out-of-state conference this year (depending on costs) unless your grant suggests/requires additional conferences. These MUST be approved by the Board of Education per state law. In order for me to get them through the approval process, I need them at least 8 weeks in advance of the conference.
- Dept Dress Expectations: Be prepared for expected and unexpected meetings, district administrators in the building, state visitors, and others. Business casual works most days but remember to dress for the occasion.
