Mr. Clayton's Friday Message

Happy Friday! We hope everyone has a safe, relaxing spring break. We will see the students back in the building on Tuesday, April 9th.

-Fantastic performances by our 2nd and 3rd grade students on Wednesday! Thanks to Coach Dwyer and Ms. Griffin for assisting with the practices leading up to the performances and a huge thank you to Ms. Ketabi for leading the kids in song and dance. Well done!

-Our Vanderlyn Science Olympiad Team (team pic below) competed in the county competition last weekend. Our Vikings participated in all offered events and did a great job competing. Please see the attachment for a list of students who won medals for their events. Thank you to Ms. Sumi and Ms. Pansini, along with our parent volunteers, preparing our students for the competition.

-Please see the attached flyer for Dunwoody High's Math and Science night on April 9th from 6:00-7:30 PM. This is a free event put on by the DHS Math and Science National Honor Society students.

-Safety is a big priority for us and we had a visit from the Dekalb County Safe Schools department this week. We received the highest score possible and they stated that we are in the top 10 schools in the county. Kudos to our staff for being so diligent with this! Additionally, back in mid-February, we were able to get all of our security cameras working for the school. These cameras monitor the outside of the building as well as our hallways and cafeteria inside the building.

-Milestones testing for our 3rd, 4th and 5th graders will begin shortly after we return from the break.
