SUMMER MEAL OPPORTUNITIES
THE PRINCIPAL CHRONICLES
The Principal Chronicles continue ... (Last one of 2023-2024 school year) ...
We have made it. The last week of school is upon us and, by some miracle, we all survived. I am so proud of our staff and students this year. Our students made amazing growth! In fact, the scores on iReady were the highest we have had in five years, and I am excited to see how that will translate to CMAS. In addition to how much they grew academically, I feel as though our students grew a ton socially as well. With all of the extra support we have in place for our students to feel safe and cared for at school, I feel as though our students gained more skills to handle all that the world throws at them. As always, our school year had ups and downs, but in the end, seeing the overall growth of our students is what is important to me. It is good to see their hard work pay off and now, they will be ready to start the summer and recharge their batteries to get ready for next year.
On the home front ... Normally I like to travel, but as of yet I don't have anything planned. My daughter, however, has a pretty good trip lined up. This summer she will be going with a travel group of teens to Croatia and Slovenia for about a month. It will be the first time she has traveled alone, although she has done a ton of international travel already. It is going to be fairly quiet around my house this summer. I guess I should get used to it as next year will be her senior year (which I don't even like to think about). At this time next year, I'll be preparing for her graduation. Ugh.
That is it for this week's episode. Have a wonderful summer and as always please be safe and make good choices. We will see you in the fall.
