CCS Update
9.25.24

We had a great Attendance Spirit Week!
Attendance was so bright last week that Monday we needed our shades. The students really socked it to absences on Tuesday. It was better to be tacky (mismatched) on Wednesday than tardy. Staff and students teamed up for great attendance on Thursday and showed school spirit on Friday. Thanks to all who participated in this inaugural Attendance Spirit Week! Attendance DOES matter!
Welcome School Nurse Erin Schlip!
Please extend a warm welcome to Nurse Schlip! She joined the CCS Team this past Monday. She has 20 years of nursing experience. A native of Oregon, Nurse Schlip used to work in obstetrics, then became a school nurse, and worked briefly at Huntingtown High before moving overseas and working as a school nurse in Paris and then London. She moved back to Calvert County a month ago. Nurse Schlip lives locally with her husband, and she is a mom of three. We are very happy she has chosen to join our team!

Annual Student Update
60% completion rate
THANK YOU to all parents who have completed the ASU! For those who have not already done so, please go into the Home Access Center (HAC) to update your student's registration information. It is very important that we have your current information. If you have questions on how to get started, please call the office at 443-550-9903.
End Hunger food campaign starts October 1st
Help us fill the collection box in our lobby
The End Hunger in Calvert County website states that 40% of food insecure families earn too much money to qualify for federal or state relief, such as SNAP. Let's help to put nutritious food on their tables. Keep an eye on sale items and BOGO specials at your grocery store that you are willing to give. For more information and suggestions of items to donate, please use the link below.
BOO Grams are back! 👻
It's the time of year for spookiness and sweets! We had fun BOOing each other last school year so we are doing it again! For 50 cents each, students and staff can send a sweet treat (like a Tootsie lollipop) to another student or staff member. Please send in your BOO forms with your money. We will also have a supply of BOO grams in the office if you need more.
Federal Impact Aid Survey
The 24-25 Federal Impact Aid survey is an important source of funding for our district. Beginning Tuesday, October 1, 2024, parents/guardians will receive communication from CCPS with directions for completing the Survey. Mrs. Michael can assist you with accessing HAC to complete the survey. Please call the office at 443-550-9903, if needed.
