News From Mrs. Tetreault
Teacher Appreciation Week is May 5th - May 9th.
Teachers play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our children. They not only impart knowledge but also instill values, inspire creativity, and provide guidance that extends far beyond the classroom. Their dedication, passion, and hard work are truly commendable, and it's important that we recognize and celebrate their contributions.
Let's come together as a community to show our appreciation for our teachers. Whether it's a simple note of thanks, a small gesture of kindness, or a heartfelt message expressing gratitude, every token of appreciation will make a meaningful difference.

Summer School Options
Entering 8th Grade Summer School Option
Dear PUSD Middle School Families,
This summer, we will offer free summer school at Granite Mountain Upper Elementary School for students entering grades 5th through 8th. Summer school is designed to help students maintain growth throughout the summer. Teachers will not introduce new content, but instead focus on the skills they have previously learned. Summer school will be held Monday through Thursday for three weeks (11 days) in June. We will not have summer school on Fridays and students cannot be dropped off before 7:30 am. Summer school will start promptly at 8:00 am and end at 2:00 pm with a free lunch option. Breakfast will NOT be offered. Below are the dates and the schedule.
* Monday, June 2nd - Thursday, June 5th
* Monday, June 9th - Thursday, June 12th
* Monday, June 16th - Wednesday, June 18th
Summer school is a three-week commitment. If your child is not able to join all three weeks, please consider something else and talk to your child's current teachers about areas they can work on over the summer to be better prepared for the following grade. We have limited spots and want all students enrolled to get the most out of the eleven days of intensive instruction.
If you would like to sign up your child for summer school, please click here: Summer school registration, and fill out the form no later than May 9th to reserve a spot for your child or to be placed on a wait-list. Please remember that this is not an enrichment summer school program. Feel free to contact me with any further questions.

Attendance Matters
I hope this message finds you well. I wanted to take a moment to emphasize the importance of regular school attendance and how it impacts your child's academic success and overall development.
Every school day offers valuable opportunities for learning, collaboration, and growth. Consistent attendance ensures that students can engage fully with the curriculum, build essential skills, and strengthen their understanding of key subjects. Missing school can lead to gaps in learning, which can affect future academic progress and make it harder for students to catch up.
In addition to academics, regular attendance helps foster positive social skills, self-discipline, and a sense of responsibility—traits that are essential for success both inside and outside the classroom. By prioritizing school attendance, we are setting our students up for success in the future.
We understand that there are sometimes unavoidable circumstances that may prevent attendance, and we are here to support your child in those times. Please feel free to reach out if you need any assistance or guidance in helping maintain consistent attendance.
Together, we can ensure that every student has the opportunity to thrive.
Thank you for your continued partnership in your child's education!
Warm regards,
Mile High Administration
