Welcome To The PreK Newsletter for Jan. / Feb. 2025!
Dear Parents,
We’re excited to share the latest updates and news as we continue our PreK journey this month!
First, a heartfelt thank you to all the families who have supported our activities and learning experiences this school year. Your involvement makes a meaningful difference, and we love seeing families take an active role in their child’s education.
We’d also love to welcome more families into our classrooms! If you’re interested in reading a story or leading a fun activity, please let us know via your Class Dojo account. Your participation is a wonderful way to be part of your child’s learning experience and create lasting memories.
As always, this newsletter will keep you updated on classroom themes, activities, and important reminders. Thank you for your continued support and partnership as we nurture your child’s social, emotional, and academic growth. Together, we’re building a community that celebrates learning every day!
Warm regards,
Ms. Allysha White, MA

MAS Charter SchoolPreK Attendance Update: More Year-to-Date Results
As we continue our PreK journey together, we want to share an update on year-to-date attendance. Regular attendance is vital for your child’s academic success and helps lay the foundation for their future achievements. Thank you for prioritizing your child’s education and making every school day count!
Year-to-Date Attendance (as of January 2025):
- Yale Campus PreK: 89.27% (↑1.07% from November)
- Old Coors Campus PreK: 94.04% (↑0.34% from November)
Attendance Goal: 95%
While we’re making progress, consistent attendance is key to ensuring your child thrives. Your continued support in making school attendance a priority will help us reach our goal!
Attendance Incentive: Students with 100% attendance each month will earn a special dress-down day as a reward! Let’s inspire our students to build strong habits while working toward this fun incentive.
Important Attendance Reminders:
- 10 or more unexcused absences will result in withdrawal from the MAS PreK program.
- Three (3) consecutive unexcused absences without communication will also result in withdrawal.
We understand that absences are sometimes unavoidable. If your child will be out, please notify us in advance so we can support their learning.
Thank you for your partnership in building a strong foundation for your child’s education. Together, we’re shaping a bright future for our PreK students!
What’s Happening in PreK: Learning, Growing, and Choosing Love
After returning from Winter Break, our PreK classrooms have been full of excitement and growth! Adjusting to school routines wasn’t easy for everyone, but the Choose Love program has been a guiding light, helping students navigate big emotions and settle into their learning environment.
This month, we’re focusing on the Choose Love Pillar of Forgiveness. Students are learning how forgiveness helps manage anger and bring emotional peace. By understanding that forgiveness is a tool for healing, they’re building skills in kindness, empathy, and conflict resolution — valuable lessons for both school and life.
Academic Focus: We’re introducing the letters Gg and Rr and their sounds. To make learning engaging, we’re connecting these letters to our Farm-to-Table theme! Students are exploring words like “garden,” “goat,” “grain,” “radish,” and “rooster” as they learn where food comes from and how it reaches their plates.
We’re so proud of how our students are embracing the Choose Love program, their academic milestones, and the joy of learning! Thank you for supporting their growth at home and helping us build a classroom full of kindness, curiosity, and success!
TOYS, POCKETS, AND LEARNING FOCUS: A FRIENDLY REMINDER
This month, we’d like to share a few important classroom guidelines to keep our learning space focused and positive for all students:
No Personal Toys from Home: Please ensure your child does not bring toys from home to school. This helps prevent distractions and keeps the focus on learning.
School Toys Stay at School: We’ve noticed some students taking toys from the classroom. Please check your child’s pockets when they get home to ensure that school toys remain at school.
If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out — we’re here to support you! Thank you for your cooperation in creating the best learning environment for our students.
