What Do You Need to Know about Our Book Fair This Week?
Our Fall CPES Book Fair will be this week. What do you need to know ahead of time for it? 1. Why do we have Book Fairs? First and foremost, we want our children to have access to books. Reading research shows that kids read more when books are available to them. Often, it can be hard to find appropriate books for children. This is a chance to provide engaging, relevant and current books for our kids. In addition, all proceeds for the Book Fair are used to buy more books for our school library that children can check out later. 2. What is the schedule for the week? Students can shop at the Book Fair Monday through Thursday from 8:30-1:30 and on Friday from 8:30-11:00. Parents can come and shop with their children during their child's lunch time and on Wednesday from 3:00-5:00 in the afternoon. (We ask parents not to pull their child from class. Teachers will send them when it is best during the day. Volunteers can help little ones shop as needed.) 3. How do you pay for books? There are three options. Parents can set up an E-Wallet and electronically deposit money into your child's account. This is the safest and best way to pay for purchases. Balances in E Wallet carry over from one Book Fair to another. You can go to this link for more information about E Wallet: https://bookfairs.scholastic.com/content/fairs/how-ewallet-works.html?fairId=5674416
The second option for payment is paying cash on Wednesday. (That will be the only day for cash purchases.) The third option is that parents can use their debit or credit cards during their child's lunch or after school on Wednesday for shopping. 4. How can you help your child's teacher? Many teachers have made "Wish Lists" for books to add to classroom libraries. Those lists are in the Media Center and we appreciate any purchases for them that add books for students to read in their classes. 5. Where can you find more information? You can click on the buttons below or you can visit the following link: https://bookfairs.scholastic.com/bf/cherryparkelementary2 Know that you can also buy books online at that link through November 24 as well. Books make a difference and we appreciate your support for our Book Fair.
