Dear DPM Families,
We want to highlight the teachable moments that have been occurring through our Monday Advisory lessons. This year we have worked to align our lessons with the Portrait of a Learner competencies, so students can learn about and apply those skills during their school day. We just wrapped up covering Empathy during October, and we are now shifting our attention to Communication for November.
With Veterans Day coming up next week on November 11th, we wanted to honor and thank all the members of our community who have served. To help us put our Portrait competencies into action, our DPM APT coordinated an opportunity for our 7th and 8th graders to write cards that will be sent to veterans and their families. These experiences go beyond the classroom to provide our Deer Path Braves with growth both as students and as people.
As a reminder, there is no school tomorrow, November 8th for our District 67 Institute Day. Have a wonderful long weekend,
Dr. Michelle Shinn, 5/6 Principal
Mr. Sam Paulsen, 7/8 Principal

Luv 4 Livy Support
Olivia (Livy) Rubeck is a 5th grader at Deer Path Middle School. Livy has been courageously battling leukemia and recently faced an additional challenge—a traumatic brain injury. Livy’s journey has been incredibly difficult and she is fortunate to be surrounded by friends in our community that find ways to support her family.
To aid in Olivia’s medical expenses and ongoing recovery efforts, a t-shirt fundraiser has been organized where you can purchase a specially designed t-shirt with all proceeds from the sales going directly to Olivia and her family to help with the financial costs they are facing. Not only will your contribution provide financial relief, but it will also send a powerful message of hope and solidarity to Olivia during her fight.
To buy a t-shirt and make a difference, scan the QR Code below. Every t-shirt sold will make a significant impact and help Olivia on her road to recovery. T-shirts will be available on 11/11 during lunch periods at DPM. Please see this attached flier for more details.
Let’s come together as a community to show Olivia that she is not alone in this battle. Your kindness and generosity can help make a world of difference. Thank you for your support!

District 67 News
Winter MAP Testing
Please make sure your student brings a fully charged iPad to school every day while testing.
MAP is a Common Core-aligned, adaptive, computer-based assessment. This nationally normed assessment is designed to measure growth over time in the areas of reading and math. The District utilizes the achievement and growth data from MAP to inform instructional planning for individuals and groups of students; and measure growth from year-to-year.
Safety and Security Reminder: Use Guest Kiosk To Sign Your Child Out of School
Please remember that when picking up students during the school day, parents or guardians must sign them out at the Guest Kiosk by the school entrance and present a valid ID. This process is essential for maintaining student safety and accountability. If the student returns later in the day, they may sign themselves back in without needing a parent or guardian to check them in again.
District 67 APT Thanksgiving Food Drive
