We have almost completed another school year! This week was chalk full of events with Choir, Awards, Jazz Band, the 8th grade field trip, the 8th grade dance (tonight), and students were rewarded for their MAP efforts by being able to "shop" at the MAP store. I want to thank our families for "helping from home" anytime there was a concern or issue in the building we needed help addressing with students. This is the final newsletter for the 23-24 school year!

As of now, we plan on holding the incentive party on the back field as planned; however, there is rain in the forecast. If we end up having to stay inside, we will come up with an alternative (likely an ice cream party - or something similar).

8th grade students will turn in their ChromeBooks on Wednesday, May 22. The following needs to be turned in to avoid a fine:

• ChromeBook
• Hard case (which should be attached to the ChromeBook)
• Soft carrying case with strap
• Charger

7th Grade Parents: All incoming 8th grade students must have a meningococcal vaccine and Dtap booster before starting 8th grade per Missouri law. Emails will go out later this week to parents of students who we do not have documentation of these vaccines having been given.

May 17: 8th Grade Dance

• The 8th grade dance and 8th grade field trip can only be attended if the student does not have referrals from April 29 through the day of the dance (this includes the day of the dance).
• Students may not leave school for any reason on May 17 and still attend the dance.

• 8th grade dance cut off for good standing is May 16th

May 21: 3rd/4th Quarter Incentive Party - In order to qualify, students will have to meet the same qualifications as before: No Ds or Fs, no behavior referrals, and 90% attendance. Students must maintain these qualifications for all of 3rd quarter and 4th quarter until May 13th.

STUDENTS MUST HAVE A SIGNED PERMISSION SLIP TO ATTEND THE INCENTIVE PARTY!

Although the 8th grade dance is several weeks away, please note students must be in good standing and cannot earn a referral of any kind from April 29 until the day of the dance. Also, as students plan their outfits, please make sure they meet the below expectations. This is a semi-formal affair: no jeans, shorts, or sweats. Ladies should wear a dress or nice slacks, gentlemen slacks and at minimum a collared shirt. Dresses should be appropriate. Tickets are not sold at the door so please plan accordingly and purchase in advance. This is a very fun evening for our 8th graders, and a way to celebrate with their peers before they move on to their respective high schools.
