ZB Parent Bulletin

A message from the Principal...
Spring is coming soon which means we are closing in on the end of the 3rd quarter already! March 21, 2025, marks the end of the grading period so this is a great time to check the grades of your student to ensure they are remaining on-track and staying focused.
The continual support of our ZBTHS parents is always appreciated. Parent feedback and opinions are so important and valued, so I ask parents of current student to please consider completing the 5 essential parent survey found on this bulletin. The survey will ask you to identify as a ZB parent, therefore providing direct input for our school and planning. It is essential we reach at least 20% parent participation to get a meaningful report. I know we can reach our goal and thank you in advance of taking the survey!
We are currently two weeks out from spring break and as the weather will eventually be getting warmer, students may catch a little “spring fever!” We encourage you to continue supporting your students to ATTEND school every day, complete assignments on time, and remain focused on their future. As we are now getting closer to the end of the school year, be sure to monitor your email and the website for information and details regarding end of the year events. As always, I look forward to creating more great days for our students and staff!
In partnership,
Bonnie Felske

2025 NAVY SPORTER AIR RIFLE TEAM AND INDIVIDUAL NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP
Things just keep falling in place for the Zion Benton 2024/2025 Rifle Team as earlier this week they added yet another significant accomplishment and WON the Navy National Championship for the 9th time in the past 22 years. This 2 DAY competition was held in Anniston, Alabama. Team Coach Master Chief Dan Hackstein told the team at the beginning of the school year this could be a magical year if they stay focused and so far, focused they’ve been.
In the fall of 2024, 492 teams comprising of 2,334 athletes set out on a journey to win this National Championship. In the qualification round Zion Benton’s team 1 finished 1st with an impressive score of 1097 out of a possible 1200 points. Individually, the ZB’s placed two cadets in the top 10.
40 of the 492 teams comprising of 218 individuals moved on from the qualification round and competed in this year’s National Championship. The ZB’s qualified 3 teams (only school to do so) for this competition, something that’s unusual and unheard of. It’s hard to qualify one team but to have three teams says a lot about their determination/dedication/grit and depth of this year's team.
After day one of this two-day competition the ZB’s held an 11-point lead. This set up an exciting day two and that’s exactly what it was and ZB hung on for a 5-point lead and claimed the National Championship.
Next up for the team is the All-Service Championship, March 20-22, where they will compete against the top 7 teams from the Army, Marine Corps, Air Force and Navy at the Gary Anderson Competition Center in Port Clinton, Ohio.
