A NOTE FROM MR. CLINE
On Monday, we pause to stop and honor civil rights hero, activist and minister Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. We are grateful for the fight of many to honor Dr. King with this holiday and you can read about the efforts here.
Our Chargers have done an excellent job so far on their exams and we look forward to continuing to see them demonstrate their knowledge and learning on upcoming tests. On Tuesday, January 21st and Wednesday, January 22nd, we will continue required in-person testing for high school students in the courses listed here and above. All middle school required in-person benchmark exam makeups will be administered on Tuesday, January 21st. All high school required in-person exam makeups will be administered on Thursday, January 23rd. Please note that make up exams are only administered in the event of a documented emergency and transportation and meals cannot be provided. Looking ahead: all Charger parents of 6-8th graders should also mark their calendars for Wednesday, January 29th for required in-person i-Ready Screener Exams. Requests for meals, transportation and additional details can be found here.
We are pleased to announce that we have hired Ms. Okemia June as our new assistant principal and she will begin on February 3rd. Ms. June brings a very strong leadership toolkit and is currently serving as an assistant principal at Rea Farms STEAM Academy in CMS. Ms. June has prior experience at CMVMS and Northwest School of the Arts. Her extensive background with master scheduling and leadership in grades 6-12 combined with her virtual experience will be a welcome addition. We are so excited for her to start!
As we look to showcase our students and staff, please follow us on Instagram:

It is of paramount importance that we maximize instructional time and student engagement at CMVS. In light of that, we have explicated our attendance policy which can be reviewed below. Students must arrive at synchronous sessions on time. Students will not be permitted into class if they are ten minutes late or later as it is a disruption to the learning and halts the process of instruction for the teacher. Thank you for supporting your student’s success with this.
It’s Always a Great Day to be a Charger,
John
CMVS 8th graders enjoyed a day of on campus learning. Science is fun!

TECHNOLOGY OR TEAMS ISSUES?
If you are having a tech issue, please fill out the Tech Issue Form. This will help issues be addressed as quickly as possible and help us keep up with our record keeping since there are only two of us handling these issues. Emails are harder to keep up with and do not leave a paper trail that everyone can access.
If you are having a Teams issue is please fill out the Teams Issue form. These issues are harder for us to troubleshoot in-house, but we are sending these request to the district for support.
Both of these forms are linked on the Tech Help page, which all students and parents have access to through links on all canvas pages and the CMVS website.
Please utilize these forms rather than emailing teachers and staff.
ALL PARENTS MUST COMPLETE THE EMERGENCY HEALTH FORM
