News from the Student Services Department
A message from Mrs. Ashley Crowe
One of my goals this year as the new College and Career Advisor is to implement a Career Exploration "Lunch and Learn" in order to provide specific insight into careers that students have identified to me as being of interest to them. I also hope to bring awareness about careers for those students who are undecided about their future. These will be short (during lunch time), focused on a specific career, and informal presentations with conversation. Students will have a chance to ask specific questions about the career being presented.
Thursday, October 3: Diogo Tavares, a Financial Advisor for Northwestern Mutual, will be here to talk to students interested in Business, Finance and Insurance careers.
Friday, October 4: Kim David, a Child Psychologist, will be here to talk to students interested in Psychology.
Monday, October 7: Emily Faulk, President of the Acadiana Branch of the American Society of Civil Engineers, will be here to give a broad outlook on all engineering fields and discuss the civil engineering field more at depth.
Thursday and Friday, November 14 and 15: "Design Days"- The Beverly's, a licensed Interior Designer and Architect, who also own an architecture firm in Lafayette will be here 2 days in a row to cover all aspects of architecture, interior design and owning/operating a firm.
They love to share about their careers being the perfect blend of art and science!
