The Boeckman Buzz
April 27th, 2025
A Note from Principal Sage
BMS Families,
Spring is an exciting time of year in a Middle School. We are in the process of preparing our 8th graders to transition to FHS and getting things ready to welcome our 5th graders to BMS!
On May 12th, we will hold a 5th Grade Information Night for all of our families coming to Boeckman Middle School. Doors will open at 5:20 for folks who want to eat pizza. The presentation will begin at 5:45 pm.
Any 5th grade family interested in having pizza, we ask that you fill out the following form. This is not an official record, but rather will help provide us with an estimate of how much we should order.
As a reminder, WEB (Where Everybody Belongs) is currently looking for 7th grade students that are interested in being WEB Leaders next year. WEB is a transitional program that connects all incoming 6th graders with positive, kind, and helpful 8th graders that have received special training in leadership. Information is being presented in Tiger Talk on how learners can apply. The deadline is May 9th. If you have any questions, please reach out to Molly Krey, Tenille Jennings or Amanda Wilson. If you want to learn more about our WEB program, please view this presentation!
Teacher Appreciation Week is one week away. If you would still like to contribute to supporting our staff on Teacher Appreciation week, donations are being collected through our Parent Ambassadors Venmo account, @boeckmanparentambassadors or feel free to drop off a cash or check donation in the front office addressed to BMS Parent Ambassadors.
It is going to be another great week at BMS!

2025-2026 School Supplies
Each year we offer families an opportunity to make getting school supplies easier! Skip the store lines this year and take care of back-to-school shopping from the comfort of home! Boeckman Middle School is partnering with Sprout School Supplies for the third year to offer prepackaged school supply kits for the 2025–26 school year.
With just a few clicks, you can make sure your student is ready for the first day of school—saving time, money, and stress along the way.
Sprout kits are tailored to our school’s supply lists, making things easier for families and helping our students start the year with everything they need to be successful. When students show up ready to learn, it helps teachers do what they do best from day one.
Order your Sprout Supply Kit now at sproutsupplies.com using our school code RBMS001. The deadline to order is July 8th, 2025.

We are proud to celebrate this week’s Tiger Stripe winners! This outstanding group of learners has demonstrated compassion, integrity, and responsibility.
We’re lucky to have them at BMS and look forward to seeing all the great things they will accomplish throughout the rest of the school year!
BMS Staff Member of the Week!
Congratulations to our BMS Staff Member of the Week, Julie Lehmeyer!
Julie is the welcoming face of BMS, always greeting everyone with a smile as they walk through the door. She is kind, positive, and always willing to support our learners and families. We are so lucky to have her as part of our BMS family! Thank you, Julie, for all you do!
Mental Health Awareness Month
May is recognized as Mental Health Awareness Month—a time to highlight the importance of caring for our mental and emotional well-being. Just as we prioritize physical health, it's essential to nurture our mental health for ourselves and our children. By raising awareness and fostering open conversations, we can help reduce stigma and create supportive environments for all. We encourage you to take a moment to watch the Erika’s Lighthouse Family Workshop Video regarding mental health. It provides valuable insights and simple strategies to support you and your family's mental wellness. Together, let's make mental health a priority!
SPRING NWEA MAP Test - April 28 to May 9, 2025
The NWEA MAP tests are adaptive computer delivered assessments that are administered to more than 11 million students across the country, which provides a large National Norm sample for comparison. Farmington Schools chooses to administer tests in reading and math to students in grades 2 through 8. The adaptive nature of the tests means that the test adjusts to the student's responses. As a student answers correctly, the test gets more challenging. As they get items wrong, the test presents easier items. The purpose of the assessment is to identify the student's academic level in the specific content area, regardless of age, grade level or prior achievement.
To read more about the NWEA test, please visit the school website, linked here. There is a link to the Opt Out information for the NWEA tests on the left side of the webpage. Please complete the form and return it to the front office. If you did one in the fall, you do not need to do it again. However, it would be helpful if you remind your student that they are opted out of the NWEA as well.
Specific Dates:
- Week of April 28-May 2 – Math NWEA in math classrooms
- Week of May 5-May 9 – Reading NWEA in language arts classrooms
- Week of May 12-May 16 – NWEA make ups
*If a learner misses a test, they will make it up upon return.
