HIGHLIGHTS FROM THE 3-DAYS OF
PRAYER & CONSECRATION LESSONS
On Thursday morning, the first day of our three-day consecration, during the 5:30 am prayer call, Pastor Keith Scriven, taught a beautiful lesson entitled, "Get In Position For Elevation." He explained that consecration meant a separation from the common, and a devotion to the Holy One. He taught us that consecration has a purpose to look at the unseen!
His scripture reference was taken from 2 Chronicles 20:17, but he encouraged us to read the entire chapter.
He left us with this quote to ponder: "When you are down to nothing...God is up to something."

On Friday morning, Sr. Pastor Ron Godbolt taught a lesson entitled, "I Am Not Playing." He defined consecrate as: sanctify, set apart, anoint, bless, ordain, make or declare sacred.
His scripture references came from:
1 Corinthians 10:7 - The children of Israel sat down to eat and drink and rose up to play.
Exodus 30:30 - Aaron and his sons were consecrated to minister in the priest office.
He encouraged us and gave us these three nuggets:
* Consecration should move us forward.
* The challenge is to not go back to idolatry after being consecrated.
* To play is to continue the old habits that God shows us to get rid of during consecration.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
On Saturday, the final day of the consecration, Bishop J.L. Godbolt taught us that consecration is to be formally dedicated to a divine purpose.
His scripture references were: II Chronicles 20:3, Proverbs 30:19, and 1 Chronicles 29:5:
II Chronicles 20:3 And Jehoshaphat feared, and set himself to seek the Lord, and proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah.
Set = [naw-than] - consecrate “himself” to give, apply, appoint, assign, bestow, commit, deliver up, occupy, render, shoot forth, withdraw, permit, employ, devote, dedicate, pay wages, lend, entrust, stretch out, yield.
He gave this example of what consecration really means. "He has conducted dozens of weddings and noticed, instinctively, that when the bride locks eyes on her bridegroom, it is magical. It is an unspoken but understood commitment that I am here for only one person."
Solomon described it as one of the four things he did not know in Proverbs 30:19:
1) The way of an eagle in the air
2) The way of a serpent on a rock
3)The way of a ship in the sea
4) The way of man with a maid.
Like a bride, your eyes, your heart has to be “full” for your bridegroom!
I Chronicles 29:5 The gold for things of gold, and the silver for things of silver, and for all manner of work to be made by the hands of artificers. And who then is willing to consecrate his service this day unto the Lord?
Consecrate = (maw-lay) - full, to be at an end, fulfilled, satisfied, abundance, and accomplished.
In closing, to consecrate we must:
Be intentional
Withdraw from the normal
Lock eyes with Jesus (Word of God)
Commit to His Will as ultimate
It’s not in confessing affirmations!
It’s not in quoting scriptures!
It is what Jesus did - He found a quiet place to be alone with God!
In this case, we are speaking directly to the idea of consecrating ourselves to God.
However, we can consecrate our home for His service, our possessions, even our entire existence!
SUNDAY SERMON RECAP
"WHOSE REPORT WILL YOU BELIEVE?"
Our Bishop, Dr. J.L. Godbolt, taught an inspiring lesson in both the 8:00am and 11:00am services entitled "Whose Report Will You Believe?" It was a lesson devoted to truth!
His objectives were:
1. Define truth.
2. Share the signs of slavery to sin.
3. Demonstrate the power in believing, accepting, and walking in truth.
His scripture references were: John 8:32 and 34.

MEMBER SPOTLIGHT
SABRINA BELTON
Since joining One Church just 15 months ago, Sabrina has found her place and is running with all her might to support in whatever way she can. She is a humble dynamo that works with the AV Communications Team. She discreetly works throughout the services and uses her photographic skills to capture pictures and videos of our Sunday services and special events.
We're grateful to her Godparents, Deacon Darrell and Sis. LaShelia McCants, for inviting her to church. Even though Sabrina has just become a part of One Church, she has become a faithful member. Sabrina has a heart for people. Aside from working in our church, Sabrina works as a Housing Manager for the Fayetteville Metropolitan Housing Authority (FMHA). In this role, she performs a large number of varied tasks that require independent decision-making on a daily basis. She also represents the FMHA in court cases involving resident lease enforcement and eviction matters. This is the one part of her job that she doesn't enjoy.
Sabrina is proud Bronco who graduate from Fayetteville State University in 2005, with a degree in Criminal Justice and minor in social work. She recently celebrated her 15th wedding anniversary with the love of her life, Roger Belton. We thank Sabrina for all she does for the body of Christ.
"We are over half way to our goal! Please continue to pay your pledges and donate to our Greater Works campaign. Thus far, we've raised $325,173.00...PRAISE GOD!
