Attention Students! Courses must be added to Academic Plan in Aeries by Sunday
1;1 Academic Planning meetings with your Counselor begin February 11, 2025!
Students have an opportunity to review their Academic Plans with their Counselor and update courses they'd like to take in the fall of 2025 and spring of 2026! Academic Pathway Planner is a great way for students to develop a better understanding of themselves and their interests, identify potential job/career pathways, and plan for continued success after high school. Students take a more active role in determining their future, practice critical skills, and find valuable ways to invest in themselves. This process helps students organize their future schedule and also avoids course changes into each semester that can cause students to fall behind or play catchup with coursework entering late to class after a course change.
Students will participate during their 2nd period class Feb. 11 - mid April.
Snack Drive for our Campus Pantry for Families in Need
Our Campus Pantry is seeking individually wrapped snack items for students and families in need. Please drop off your donations from February 10th - 28th to the Front Office labeled as “Campus Pantry”. Thank you for your support! For any questions, please reach out to our Family and Community Liaison @ adrianagaminodiaz@vistausd.org.

WASC Accreditation Visit - February 23-26
The Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) is the accrediting organization for all public high schools in CA, AZ, OR, WA, ID, and CO. Every public high school in the western region of the country hosts a WASC Visiting Committee at least every six years to ensure that the school's instruction, programs, and resources are adequately meeting the needs of the school community and state standards. MVHS has held the highest accreditation rating during each of its WASC cycles, and we are looking forward to hosting our next WASC Accreditation Visit from February 23rd-26th.
A team of six WASC Visiting Committee Members (administrators, teachers, counselors, etc.) from other public schools in the region will visit MVHS to meet with key stakeholder groups, visit classrooms, talk with students, etc. to ensure that MVHS is providing a high-quality education to all students. Accreditation from WASC ensures that students' high school diplomas are recognized by universities, colleges, employers as having met rigorous educational standards at the high school-level.
We are looking forward to the visit and the opportunity to showcase the incredible, innovative opportunities we are offering to our students during their high school careers.

Anonymous Tip Reporting: If You See Something, Say Something
MVHS, along with all other Vista Unified schools have an anonymous tip line (see the button below) where all stakeholders (students, parents, staff, community members) can report dangerous behaviors on, around, or related to our campus. Tips reported are completely anonymous (unless the user shares his/her name), and VUSD and MVHS administrators are alerted immediately. In order to keep our school community safe, we ask all stakeholders that if they see something, say something, and the tip line is just one of many ways to do that.
