February 10, 2025
Greetings MVES Familes,
February is here, and this month, our school is focusing on kindness! We are encouraging all students to practice our two key expectations: using kind words and showing kind actions every day. February is also Black History Month, and our students will be learning about influential Black Americans—trailblazers who have made significant contributions to our society. To celebrate this important month, we invite all families to join us for our Soul Fest Family Night on February 27th at 6pm, where we will honor and showcase what our students have learned. We hope to see everyone there for an evening of celebration, learning, and community!
Please join us this Tuesday for our PTO meeting
Sincerely,
Christine Peterson, Seth Kennard, and Stephanie Provines

The Latest Shout Outs!
"Ms. Lin is quite literally the kindest and most patient person I have ever met. She is a phenomenal person and teacher. I have witnessed her teach through tablet in 2021, through masks in 2022, and now she is teaching the children who were born right before and during the early part of the pandemic, which is not an easy feat. She is more than deserving of recognition for all of the time and energy she puts into her work."
"I had the opportunity to volunteer in Sra. Simpson's classroom in the fall semester and I was impressed with the way she managed her classroom with loving firmness. She is a wonderful instructor who offers kindness, humor, and clear guidance to her students. She has helped my son gain access to support services we were not previously aware of, which has made a huge difference in his speech impediment and given him back his confidence. She is truly incredible!!!"
"Ms. Dakota is an amazing communicator with the families of the students she is working with. She sends remind messages consistently and is always willing to jump on a phone call. She is knowledgeable about the work she is doing with students in reading intervention and my son adores her. Thank you for all your hard work with your students, Ms. Dakota!"
"Ms. Fife does a wonderful job with her reading instruction and makes reading the favorite part of my child's day. She's made huge strides and loves being at school because of the wonderful classroom environment Ms. Fife has built."
"Ms. Barkhordari makes her Spanish instruction so accessible for the students. My child has gotten a lot more confident in her Spanish and loves her time in Ms. Barkhordari's class each day!"
"Ms. Kehr is such a caring, connected, and engaging teacher. My child went from being intimidated about starting kindergarten to loving it so fast, and he's never looked back. He's always sharing something new he's learned and is so enthusiastic about school!"
"We've had 2 kids lucky enough to have Teacher Schutz and it's made the transition into Mountain View and the Spanish immersion program so positive. They have a way of putting kids at ease and making the content feel accessible and exciting. Their enthusiasm is contagious, and our current kindergartner always comes home excited to share something new he learned that day."
