Superintendent's Message
The Power of Teacher Collaboration
On Monday, our teachers had their second day to work together as collaborative teams. In each school that I visited, I saw our teachers working together to design success for every student in their classes. In teams, they were identifying the crucial knowledge and skills that every student needs to learn and planning ways to not only help those students who may struggle to learn them, but also how to provide extended learning once they have learned them. When teacher teams consistently and rigorously work together to follow through on these four questions, student learning inevitably improves. Thank you for supporting our Monday schedule which provides our teachers with the necessary time to actively engage in this work.
FISH! Stories
In August, our support staff learned more about the principles of the FISH! Philosophy.
Being there means noticing someone else's needs and setting aside our own for a moment to focus on serving them.
Being there means being fully present and engaged in our interactions with others because they matter.
Being there means listening to truly understand, not just to reply with our own thoughts.
If an employee of D93 has been there for you or your kids this year, will you please take a moment to share their story with us?

Reminder: Curricular Materials Review Committee
We need parents to join our Curriculum Adoption Committee to help read and evaluate proposed curricular materials. Curricular materials may include novels, plays, musical scores, text books, and other instructional resources. Most if not all of the work by committee members can be done at home. We will share proposed resources as well as a rating form for committee members to use to review the instructional material. We will also hold Curricular Adoption Committee meetings on the second Friday of each month at 12:00 pm in the District Office. All committee members will be welcome, but not required to attend in-person meetings.
Please complete the form below if you are available to help with this work.
