Guided by Truth
At Santa Clara School, we are truly blessed with a vibrant and connected community where students, staff and families come together to create meaningful opportunities for learning, growth and celebration. Events like our Mother’s Day Morning, Cross Country Carnival, and the upcoming School Disco are more than just calendar highlights—they reflect who we are as a community. We are grateful for the many opportunities we share together.
These special moments are made possible by the dedication of our staff and the generous support of our parents. Together, we create spaces where children feel a deep sense of belonging, joy and pride in their school. Whether it’s cheering on a classmate, sharing a meal, or dancing with friends, our students are growing in confidence, connection and character.
Today, we hold in our prayers all the students who are preparing to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation for the first time. This sacrament offers a path to forgiveness, renewal, and a restored relationship with God. We pray that each child feels peace in their hearts and a deeper connection with God’s love and mercy.
Loving God,
We thank You for the gift of Your forgiveness.
As our students prepare for their First Reconciliation,
fill their hearts with peace, courage and trust in Your mercy.
Help them know Your love welcomes them always.
May this moment help them grow closer to You,
and live with kindness, honesty and love each day.
Amen.
What a perfect day we had for our annual Cross Country Carnival! The sun was shining and the grounds were alive with energy and excitement. It was heart-warming to see so many families come along to cheer on the students. Even more inspiring was the way our children supported each other—showing resilience, encouragement, and great sportsmanship. Congratulations to every student who took part. A special thank you to Miss Fitzpatrick for her fantastic organisation and to all staff who helped with marshalling and encouraging students along the way. Events like this build our school spirit and show the strength of our Santa Clara community. We wish our Santa Clara Cross Country Interschool team the best of spirit tomorrow as they race other schools at Good Shepard Catholic School Kelmscott.
Looking ahead, Semester One student reports will be sent home at the end of this term. These reports reflect the progress students are making towards achieving year-level standards. Grades are based on assessments, observed skills, and student responses during conferencing and class tasks. This year, reports will include a Religious Education learning comment. This will appear in the general comment section and will reflect what has been taught and how well each student has demonstrated their understanding—recognising that Religious Education is our first learning area as a Catholic school. Languages will not receive a grade in Semester One, but students will receive an effort rating for their participation and engagement. In Week 6, families will be invited to meet with classroom teachers to discuss your child’s progress, achievements and learning goals. Thank you to our dedicated staff who are working hard this term to support student learning while also preparing detailed, thoughtful reports.
A sincere thank you to all families who, despite the busyness of mornings and afternoons, continue to follow our school’s pick-up, drop-off and parking procedures. We appreciate your patience and cooperation. We are working with the City of Canning to find a long-term solution for the Palmerston Street parking concerns, and we hope to share an update with you soon.
Thank you for your continued support. It is a privilege to lead a school where the values of truth, caring, and community are lived out every day.
In seeking Truth, we flourish.
