Dear Monomoy Middle School Families,
Thank you to families, staff, and students for a "fintastic" first week of school! Our students and staff did a great job getting to know routines and expectations, which has set a positive tone for the year ahead. Most importantly, the joy that has permeated our halls is heartwarming—seeing smiles on students’ faces and the enthusiasm from staff is what makes our school come alive. We are excited for the incredible year ahead and are grateful for the continued support from our families in making it all possible!
In partnership,
Abby Dudley
Principal
ANNOUNCEMENTS
Bus Riders: For all families who use bussing services, please work with your students to ensure that they are aware of and looking for their stops. While we allow phone use on the bus, we recognize that this can be distracting and want to make sure that it doesn't lead to missing stops. Students who miss their stops will be brought back to the middle school at the end of the route to be picked up.
Sports: Fall sports will begin on Monday! Sports are a great way for students to get connected to others and to support our school. Please see communication from coaches for the practice schedule this week. We will include reminders as to where each team is meeting on the announcements each day. Reach out to Ms. Guillemette with any questions at kguillemette@monomoy.edu.
Clubs: Students who signed up for clubs will begin this week. Please see Ms. Scaficchia at jscaficchia@monomoy.edu with any questions.
Seminar: Students signed up for seminar on Friday and will begin on Monday. All students have the brochure and sign up in their student email. If they missed sign up, they can still use these links. Students will receive seminar assignments on Monday. Please note that we do our best to honor student choices, but some of the more popular selections have limited sign ups. Additionally, seminar serves as our intervention lab block and students will be assigned to interventions and did not need to select these classes.
Late Bus Begins! The MRMS Late Bus/Express Bus begins Monday, September 9. Click here for the schedule.
Measures of Academic Progress (MAP): At MRSD we use MAP as our benchmark testing to monitor student achievement and growth. The fall MAP testing window will open this week and students will complete MAP with their core content area teachers.
