First Full Week Ahead...
Hello Mattos Community! It's a privilege to be back at Mattos this year as your principal and I am beyond excited to continue the great work with all of you! Mattos is a gem of a school where we welcome and include all students in a safe, valued, and respected environment. We are excited to see some of our programs draw more students from across Fremont and Newark (and even farther!). We're excited to reopen our makerspace, continue to revamp our outdoor learning area, and creatively explore a play space on the K-2 side of campus. In addition to all that, our students will thrive in all classrooms as our staff is energized for an awesome school year!
Each Monday, I do my best to send out a Mattos Family Update. This is the main way I communicate to families on a regular basis. Please read the entire message, in addition to other posts on Parent Square (PSQ). You will soon learn that I love posting on PSQ! :) I'm a bit late tonight as my daughter is leaving for college tomorrow and we've been saying our goodbyes to friends and finishing packing.
Today was a great drop off and pick up! Thank you for your continued patience as everyone learns how we operate at Mattos. Speaking of which, if you haven't checked out our Mattos Family Handbook, please do so below.
A HUGE shout out to our AMAZING Mattos PTA! They have been volunteering in so many ways at the start of this school year. If you'd like to volunteer at Mattos, our PTA is a great way to do so!
Updates and Reminders:
*Drop off and pick is only allowed in our main office loop. Safety Patrol will start soon!
*Please use the crosswalk when crossing Farwell Drive!
*Let the office know if there are any changes in address, contact information etc.
*If your child is going to be late or absent please email hliu@fusdk12.net. Ginger, our Office Assistant, will record the tardy or absence appropriately. Miss Ginger is also the point person on campus for Independent Study contracts if you and interested in one for a long period of absence. However, everyday at school matters, and I hope you will ensure good attendance all year long!
