SEL Stance of the Month: Respect
Giving and receiving respect from others is important because it helps us feel safe and allows us to be ourselves. We all have an innate need to feel respected by others.
Children tend to imitate the adults in their lives. If they see us treating others with respect, theyโre more likely to do the same. Respect is shown not only in our behavior but also in our attitude toward others.
As a school, we have worked hard this year to ensure we are spending more time teaching respect, and supporting students throughout the day with showing respect.
