Loker School Scoop 9-4-24

Tuesday, September 10, 2024
I hope that you are well! It has been a joyful start to the school year and it has been such a pleasure working with your children! They are truly exemplifying our core values of PRIDE (Personal Best, Respect, Integrity, Determination and Enthusiasm) and we are excited for the year ahead!
On the evening of September 26th, we will host our annual Curriculum Night. The structure of this year will be a little different as we are going to have a specialists portion instead of sharing a specialists video with you. During this time frame, specialists will each have a table in the cafeteria where they will highlight important components of their curriculum. Special education teachers and school psychologists will also be in their offices available to speak with parents about their roles during this 30-minute period. Therefore, the time frame of Curriculum Night will be the following:
6:00pm-6:45pm: Grades 3-5
6:45pm-7:15pm: Specialists
7:15pm-8:00am: Grades K-2
Beginning the week of September 16th (next week), 4th and 5th strings and band ensembles will run from 7:45am-8:30am (They are starting at 8:00am this week). 5th grade ensembles are occurring on Monday mornings and 4th grade ensembles are taking place on Tuesday mornings. As a reminder, scholars participating in ensembles can be dropped off beginning at 7:40am and can enter the building at that time so they can get their instruments set up for the 7:45am start. For families with a younger sibling(s) of a 4th/5th grade band or strings scholar, you can drop off the younger sibling(s) at the same time and they can wait in the main lobby until 7:45am. The goal is to prevent families from having to do two drop-offs at Loker in the morning.
Thank you for your partnership. Have a great week!
Best,
Brian
