PCK Weekly Newsletter

Hello PCK Families,
This week, I would like to highlight one of our parent/staff committees here at PCK. The School Accountability Committee (SAC) plays a crucial role in our school community. Its primary purpose is to work collaboratively with school leadership, teachers, and parents to ensure that we are meeting our educational goals and continuously improving the quality of education at our school.
What is the School Accountability Committee?
The SAC is a group of dedicated volunteers made up of parents, teachers, and community members who come together to provide input on various aspects of our school’s performance.
Their responsibilities include:
Reviewing and evaluating the school’s Unified Improvement Plan (UIP) to assess areas of strength and opportunities for growth.
Reviewing the allocation of resources to ensure that funds are used in a way that aligns with our educational initiatives.
Fostering communication and collaboration between the school and the broader community.
How Can You Get Involved?
We are currently seeking passionate and committed individuals to join our SAC. Your participation would be invaluable in helping us achieve our shared vision of excellence in education.
Here’s how you can get involved:
Attend SAC Meetings: You are welcome to attend SAC meetings to stay informed about our discussions and decisions. Meeting dates and times will be posted on our school website and communicated through our school newsletter.
Provide Feedback: We value your opinions and suggestions. Feel free to share your thoughts with SAC members and through our SAC community surveys!
Your involvement in the SAC is a fantastic way to contribute to the success of our school and the education of our students.
Thank you for your continued support and engagement in our school community.
Warm regards,
Dr. Leanne Weyman
Director, PCK
We are excited to share a new initiative at Parker Core Knowledge for this school year with our Character Traits of the Month. This year we are placing an added focus on not only building great students, but also nurturing upstanding citizens who will make a positive impact as leaders in their communities.
Each month, our character calendar will highlight a different and exceptional character trait that we hope to see our students embody. For September, our focus will be on Respect. Throughout the month, students who are seen by teachers and staff displaying acts of respect will be recognized at a monthly assembly. We believe that celebrating these actions will encourage our students to continue demonstrating this important trait both in and out of the classroom.
To further support our efforts, we will also be providing you with monthly at-home activities, known as Character Dares, which are designed to help reinforce these traits at home. This month's Character Dare centers around the theme of Neighbors and aims to strengthen bonds at home. We encourage you to take part in these activities with your child, as they are a great way to extend the learning and character development beyond the school environment.
We are looking forward to seeing our students grow as respectful individuals who contribute positively to our school and community.
As part of our commitment to supporting our students during their transition from middle to high school, we are excited to invite our 7th and 8th grade students to participate in our upcoming High School Information Night.
This event provides an excellent opportunity for families to interact with schools, showcasing the unique programs, extracurricular activities, and educational opportunities they offer. We believe that by providing our students with a comprehensive view of their high school options, we can better prepare them for a successful transition.
Hello PCK Families,
As August is winding down I’m sure most of you are as excited as I am to put the hot weather in the
rearview mirror and move into fall as quickly as we can. And fall brings two of my personal favorite
seasons: Halloween and college football!
This week I’d like to focus on providing information on the Safe2Tell program. We prefer that if there is a concern, that a student or family would make the report directly to the school or to law enforcement but we understand that this is not always what someone is comfortable doing.
Safe2Tell is an anonymous reporting method for students and community members to pass along concerns regarding bullying, threats, or other safety issues. The program is anonymous in an effort to encourage reporting while decreasing concerns for labeling or retaliation. Any Safe2Tell report that is made regarding PCK is provided to the Sheriff’s Office as well as select administrators at the school so the report can be addressed promptly and appropriately.
Safe2Tell is available through their website, by phone, and the Safe2Tell CO app. As always, please let me know if you have any questions!

Be healthy, happy, and safe,
Deputy Sandifer

Our first Spirit Day of the 2024-25 school year is set to kick off tomorrow. Spirit Days are an excellent opportunity for students to show their school pride and continue to build on an already incredible community at PCK. With this in mind we want to ensure that all students adhere to our dress code guidelines to maintain a cohesive and respectful environment. Below are some important reminders regarding the dress code for Spirit Days.
- PCK Themed Shirts: Students are encouraged to wear PCK-themed shirts to celebrate our school spirit. These shirts should be paired with regular uniform bottoms. Uniform bottoms include skirts, pants, or skorts that are in line with our standard uniform policy.
- Prohibited Attire: Please note that jeans, leggings and shorts are not permitted on Spirit Days, even if they are PCK-themed or in school colors. It is important that students remain in compliance with our dress code to ensure consistency across the entire school.
- Dress Code Violations: Students who do not adhere to the dress code will receive a dress code violation. Depending on how many a student has received in the past, they may be in danger of losing the privilege of future Spirit or Dress Down days.
Below you can find images of acceptable PCK-themed Spirit Day shirts from last year's Fund Run. These can be worn on all Spirit Days throughout the school year.
