2025 Run-A-Thon Information
Heim Families!
It’s that time of the year again for our annual Run-A-Thon and this year we are supporting the 11 Day Power Play! We would first like to thank all families who have contributed to our annual $10,000 goal so far. For those of you who may not know, Heim Elementary has been participating in this physical education event since 1988. It has become a great tradition at our school that all students kindergarten through 4th grade participate in during class. The dates of our event are April 9th, 10th, & 11th!
Your student has been working very hard to get ready for our culminating fitness unit event. We will be continuing our training next week so please remind your student to wear sneakers for PE. If you are interested in making a donation here is a direct link to our fundraising page: https://communityshift.11daypowerplay.com/HeimElementary?tab=MyPage
Check your WITSMail to find a digital copy of our sponsor form that was sent home with your student last week with all the information regarding our event. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to reach out!
Thank you for your support!

Main Office Updates
Parent Input Form for Student Placement 2025-2026 School Year
At Heim Elementary, our teachers and administrators work diligently to make class placement decisions based on the academic, social, and behavioral needs of every student. In addition, there are numerous required services, class size and gender balance challenges to consider. We ask that you trust our judgment in this process by not requesting a specific teacher or team, as this can offset our careful planning process. We value your input and will carefully consider input about your child to include within our student placement process for the 2025-2026 school year. We will accept input through this form until May 1, 2025.
Grade 4 Intramurals
Parents of fourth grade students who participate in after school intramurals must notify their classroom teacher if they will not be attending on a particular day. Our PE teachers will be taking attendance and ensuring all students are accounted for. If your child is scheduled for an after school club on the same day as intramurals, they must attend their club as some students were unable to secure a spot due to limited space.
Transportation Changes
If your child will have a change in transportation, or will be picked up early, please send a paper note to your child’s teacher. Notifying teachers electronically, mid-day will not guarantee teachers will get the information on time. In addition, we can only give bus passes for emergency childcare, not for prearranged playdates. Thank you for your cooperation.
Reminder for Pick Up
Please remember to always have ID when coming into school as you may be required to provide it when picking up your child.

District News
Transportation Efficiency Study
The District is conducting a Transportation Efficiency Study to help optimize transportation in the District. As we prepare for the 2025-2026 school year, our goal is to ensure efficiency with overall ride time for students and also streamline arrival and dismissal at our buildings. Parents/guardians need to submit a response for arrival and dismissal for each child. The survey is open Tuesday, April 1st and closes Monday, June 2nd.
The survey is available on WITS. Please note that once a parent/guardian makes their selection, the Transportation Efficiency Study will no longer be available.
Advanced Coursework Website
The Williamsville Central School District is proud to provide students with a premiere public education, offering many opportunities for students to participate in advanced coursework and accelerate their learning.
We encourage all of our students and families to explore these educational opportunities offered by the District. The advanced courses offered in middle and high schools are available on the Advanced Coursework Opportunities webpage. Please be sure to review the pages for English Language Arts, Mathematics, and Science to understand the details associated with each content area. Middle school course descriptions are available on this webpage. High school course information for all content areas is available through each school’s Course Catalog, which is also linked on the Advanced Coursework Opportunities page.
Your child’s respective school is responsible for the development of individual student schedules. Questions related to advanced coursework should be referred to your child’s school counselor.
Open Enrollment
Open enrollment is the opportunity for students who live in the Williamsville Central School District to attend a school within the District that is outside of the student’s residential attendance area. Each school year, the Board of Education decides which schools will be available for open enrollment in the following school year, based primarily on anticipated enrollments. If a school is expected to be near or at capacity, the school may be “closed” to any students who reside outside of its designated attendance area.
The Office of Student Services must receive written requests for open enrollment for the 2025-26 school year by June 1, 2025 for grades 1 through 12; incoming Kindergarten students have a July 1, 2025 open enrollment deadline.
