Mr. Wright's Long Walk Home
At the start of the school year, our Middle School Principal, Mr. Dave Wright, set an incredibly ambitious challenge for his students: to master 15,000 skills in our new IXL program. If the students met this goal by May 10th, Mr. Wright promised to walk/run 21.07 miles from school to his home.
Not only did the students meet this goal, but they surpassed it two months early!
On Friday, May 16th, our entire middle school came together to celebrate and cheer Mr. Wright on his epic journey home! Mr. Wright’s 21-mile walk/run will take approximately 5 to 6 hours (including pit stops), and he will be doing periodic livestreams on the EPAMS Facebook page throughout the walk, as well as having a live GPS tracker.
Congratulations to all of our Middle School students for achieving your goal! Go Mr. Wright!
Travers Award
East Pennsboro Area High School is proud to announce that Steel Bayer and Irys Kline were selected to be finalists for the prestigious Travers Award! The Travers Award recognizes top student-athletes who are leaders on and off the field. Winners are recognized for their outstanding work in academics and in the community. On top of that, EPASD finalist Steel Bayer was selected as the male winner of the award! In the 44-year history of the Travers Award, East Pennsboro Area High School has only ever had 3 other Travers Award winners! Congratulations to Steel & Irys on this notable accomplishment! We are Panther Proud!
Music in the Parks
Our Middle School Small Ensemble Choir students competed at Hersheypark on Friday as part of a Music in the Parks Festival. They earned 1st place in their category as well as the Esprit de Corps Award, which is presented to one school out of all in attendance for showing good teamwork, integrity, and respect throughout the event. Congratulations to our students & thank you to teacher Ms. Albright! We are Panther Proud!

On Wednesday, 5/14 - 3rd and 4th grade Elementary Students were invited to meet and try Band Instruments at our annual Instrument Petting Zoo held at EPAMS!
All students are eligible for Band when they reach 4th and 5th grades! Over 100 families registered for the event and enjoyed learning about Band while trying out 6 different instruments.
Thank you to our friends at Horn Hospital, as well as our musical adult and student volunteers who made this night a big success! Thank you to the Middle School and Principal Dave Wright for hosting the event!

Next, we recognized Najely Zuniga-Perez as one of our Cumberland Perry Area Career and Technical Center Students of the Quarter. Najely spoke about her experiences at the CPACTC, as well as her future plans for both career and military service. Finally, our spring athletic leadership students from track and field, softball, and boys' tennis were all recognized for their accomplishments on and off the field. Thank you to all of our students and families for joining us!
