Lincoln Weekend Update, May 27, 2024
Dear Lincoln Community,
Friday the last school day for our 2024 graduates. The PTO's ALOHA bulletin board is a wonderful reminder of how quickly children move through their elementary years. The Surf Board display of baby photos matched with 8th grade photos is delightful. Aloha is used to express hello and goodbye. District 57 teachers and staff are grateful to have had the opportunity to say hello to your families when you first arrived in District 57 and now we wish your children the very best as we say goodbye. What a week students and staff have had to celebrate that send off! One event was better than the next: Great America, Aloha Party, Graduation Lunch, and the awards presentations at Graduation rehearsal! We look forward to Tuesday night, when we bid farewell to our graduates and wish them the very best in high school and beyond.
Please join us in recognizing the following Lincoln staff members for their Retirement and Service. Their dedication to District 57 and its students is a testament to this community that education, compassion, and commitment are essential in supporting a safe, healthy, and nurturing environment for its youth.
Retirees: Randy Steen and Michelle Walsh

A Message from District 57 Health Services
If your child currently has medication stored in the school health office, in an effort to ensure safe and consistent practices across all buildings, we are asking parents/guardians to pick up medication in the health office at the end of the school year. We are not able to send medication home with a student unless the student has a current medication authorization form signed by the doctor allowing the student to self-carry an inhaler or EpiPen. Please plan to pick up your child’s medication at the end of the day on your child’s last day of attendance. All medications not picked up by the end of the school year will be destroyed. Medical paperwork that needs to be completed for the next school year was/will be sent home prior to the last day of school.
We appreciate your assistance with picking up your child’s medication. Please contact your child’s school nurse if you have any questions.
School Supply Donations
LINCOLN STUDENT COUNCIL is coordinating the collection of school supplies at the end of the year. It's nearly locker clean out time again. Do you have extra school supplies that are new or in "like-new" condition? We are collecting school supplies to help students in need. Please drop off any school supplies in the donation boxes around school starting the week of May 20th (for 8th grade) and the week of May 28th (for 6th and 7th grade).
Please consider donating any of the following items:
- pencils and pens
- pencil cases
- working markers
- colored pencils or crayons
- loose leaf paper
- unused notebooks/folders
- other school supplies: glue sticks, rulers, etc.
American Legion Post 525 is Looking for Families of Activity Duty Service Men and Women
Mount Prospect American Legion Post 525 would like to give Blue Star Banners to the immediate family members (son, daughter, father, mother, sister or brother, spouse) of those currently serving in the military. The American Legion Family has brought this practice back in recent years. We are having a ceremony and complimentary lunch Sunday, July 14 , 2024 at the Moose Lodge #660 (our American Legion Post 525 home), 602 N. Main St., Mt. Prospect, IL, and would like to include you and your family. Please contact us with the name, branch of service, and rank of your immediate family member currently serving in the military. Deadline to register is July 1. To register please contact Marcie Kane at mfkane6@gmail.com.
