Honoring Mrs. Rainey & Classroom Update
We are grateful for the outpouring of support from our district and school communities following the passing of Mrs. Lorie Rainey.
The kindness and compassion shown to our students, staff, and Mrs. Rainey’s family have been truly meaningful. We also appreciate the district support team for being present to help our school during this difficult time.
Mrs. Rainey’s impact on our community was profound, and we thank everyone for honoring her memory with such care and support.
We want to inform our Mabel Rush community that Mrs. Rainey's family is planning a celebration of her life. Once the details are finalized, we will share them with our community.
Ms. Osenberg to Continue Supporting Mrs. Rainey's Classroom
We also want to assure families that Ms. Osenberg will continue to support Mrs. Rainey’s 3rd-grade students for the remainder of the academic year. We greatly appreciate her dedication and commitment to ensuring continuity and support for the class.
Thank you for your understanding and support.
Congratulations to The Orcas - OBOB Regional Champions
We are proud to announce that our Mabel Rush Oregon Battle of the Books team - The Orcas - have won the regional tournament and are heading to the state competition! Their hard work, teamwork, and love of reading truly paid off.
A huge thank you to our amazing coaches and volunteers who supported our team every step of the way—this success wouldn’t be possible without you. Go Orcas!
Report Cards to be Sent Home Wednesday, March 19
Report Cards Going Home Wednesday, March 19
We want to let families know that report cards will be sent home with students on Wednesday, March 19, 2025. Please check your child’s backpack that day for their report card.
We ask that parents and guardians do the following:
• Keep the report card for your records.
• Sign the envelope the report card came in.
• Have your child return the signed envelope to school.
Thank you for your continued support. If you have any questions about your child’s report card, please contact your child's teacher.
Adjustments to the 2024-2025 Academic Calendar
• April 10 – Now a full school day. Spring conferences will be in the evening only.
• April 11 – No school and no conferences.
• June 12 – Now the last day of school, with a half-day for students.
Thanks for your flexibility as we adjust for missed days!
Spring Teacher/Family Conferences - April 10, 2025
Conferences Update
To make up for our snow day, we’ve adjusted our conference schedule to prioritize student learning time in classrooms. Thursday, April 10 will now be a full day of school, followed by evening conferences between 3:15 and 7:15 pm. There will be no school on Friday, April 11.
We know how important the connection between school and home is, and conferences play a big part in that. While we won’t be able to schedule conferences with every family, teachers will be reaching out directly to those they need to meet with. If you’d like to request a conference, please don’t hesitate to contact your child’s teacher.
