March Cornerstone: Positivity
3 Keys to Becoming a Positive Leader
One super important aspect of positivity is that to maintain a positive mindset, we have to take care of ourselves. Below are five suggestions from Happiness expert Shawn Achor on quick daily things we can do to help take care of ourselves. Spring Break is a great time to hit both the snooze button on our alarm clocks and the reset button on taking time to take care of ourselves.
Weekly Schedule
Reminder - There is no school from March 18th - March 22nd.
D93 Board News
Last night the Board honored over 100 state champions. We filled the auditorium and it called for a selfie. It was a momentous night. In addition to honoring students we had incredible student council presentations from Technical Careers and Bonneville High Schools. We have such great leaders and mentors who are helping students pave their way to incredible futures. It was truly a night of excellence.
You can watch the meeting by clicking this link.
Board Policy Updates:
Policy 2557 Non-Approved Student Activities or Trips for final adoption
Policy 1600 Code of Conduct for School Board Members for final adoption
Attendance Policy Update
The Board also approved the recommendation to suspend the provisions for makeup time (Section 5b) of our attendance policy for the 2023-2024 school year. This recommendation came after multiple lengthy conversations with principals about the challenges of requiring students to make time up. All other corrective actions including verification of compliance for Driver's Education, recommendation to suspend driver's licenses, conferences with principals are in place.
Attendance matters to the success of students both inside and outside of school. Our local business reported that regular and predictable attendance is the most important quality they look for when hiring young employees.
Please help us to provide the best education for your children by ensuring they attend school unless there are extenuating circumstances that make it impossible for them to not attend.
