๐We Want Your Input๐
Please complete by Friday, December 20
Parent Climate Survey
Dear Lodi Unified School District Parents and Guardians,
Each year, the district desires to obtain community input to measure parent and family engagement, including how well the district builds relationships between school staff and families, builds partnerships for student outcomes, and seeks input for decision-making. Each year the district collects this information in part using the Parent Climate Survey. This survey also helps determine the allocation of services included in the Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP), and is used to evaluate the School Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA) for each Title I school site. It is a valuable source of information, and we hope that you take the time to answer thoughtfully. The survey should take about 15 minutes to complete. The survey will be available from December 9th to December 20th. This link will take you to the survey. Your responses will remain anonymous.
Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your feedback!

Jump into English for Parents
Jump into English is thrilled to announce a completely revamped curriculum for our Jump into English for Parents program! This program is designed to support LUSD parents learning English as a second language through a variety interactive lessons focused on parent engagement, social-emotional learning, and foundational language skills.
The primary goal of this program is to provide families with the tools necessary to fully engage in their childrenโs education and community activities, while also enhancing foundational language skills. By offering a program with highly relevant, community related themes blended with language development, we hope to foster a more inclusive and supportive environment for everyone.
Please see the flyers and a link to the online registration form https://jimenterprises.net/enroll/parent-registration/, available in both English and Spanish. Classes will be offered at various LUSD sites and also online. Parents that are interested and would like more information about the program, please contact their office at 209-474-6284 or you may reach out to Fabiana Simmons, Program Coordinator at 209-471-6197.

30 Volunteer Hours
We believe that a strong school community is built on the collaboration of students, teachers, parents and guardians. That's why this year we are bringing back the 30 hours of volunteer hours. Your involvement has a profound impact on both your child's experience and the overall success of our school community. We have many activities taking place this year. If you can contribute a few hours a week, help with specific events, or support with behind-the-scenes activities, every bit of help makes a difference. By volunteering, you're not only helping our school but also showing your child the importance of giving back and being involved.
Volunteer slips are available in the office. If you are interested in learning about volunteer opportunities, please feel free to reach out to our Serna PTA via email at jsjcspta@gmail.com. Thank you for being an essential part of our community.

๐ป Student Chromebooks ๐ป
Important Notice to Parents: Discussing Care and Responsibility for District Chromebooks (K-12)
We want to bring to your attention the importance of discussing the proper care of district-issued student Chromebooks with your children. We have observed an increase in incidents involving damage, often linked to carelessness or misuse. As we address these situations, we want to remind you of the importance of engaging in discussions with your child about the proper care of their district-issued Chromebook. Students will be held responsible for any damages, and charges may apply for repairs. Principals will conduct thorough investigations in collaboration with students to ensure fair outcomes. Additionally, please remind your students to charge their Chromebooks overnight, ensuring they are ready for the next day's learning activities. Your involvement in these discussions is crucial, and we appreciate your attention to these matters.
Have You Reported Your Students' Absence?
If your student is sick and will not be attending school, please call our office at 209-331-7809 to notify us.
Please plan family trips during our school's designated breaks and holidays. Our school calendar is linked at the end of this newsletter and paper copies are available in the office. If you plan a trip outside the designated breaks, please contact the office.
