As the year draws to a close, we find ourselves filled with gratitude for your continued support. We hope this holiday season brings you joy and peace.
Staff Spotlight
We are spotlighting the dedicated faculty and staff of Long Lake Central School District to celebrate their unwavering commitment to education and their positive impact on our students and community. Their hard work, creativity, and passion inspire excellence and foster a nurturing learning environment, making a lasting difference in the lives of our young learners.
Cara Lewis
Cara Lewis is embarking on her second year at Long Lake CSD as Teacher's Aide. As a proud alumna, she values the sense of community within the district and cherishes the opportunity to work with students.
A young-at-heart individual, Cara shares many interests with the students she serves. In her leisure time, she enjoys baking, singing, and tending to her beloved animals. One of the funniest student encounters she recalls was during a race: "I said, 'I'm too old for this,' and he replied, 'I know you're really old, Mrs. Lewis, you're, like, 70!'"
If granted a superpower, Cara would choose the ability to communicate with animals and understand their thoughts. Although her career path took an unexpected turn from pastry chef to educator, she feels a deep sense of fulfillment in her current role. It's a perfect fit, a calling she was destined to answer.
Kate Traynor
Kate Traynor is a dedicated educator in her second year as a Teacher's Aide at the Long Lake Central School District. What she cherishes most about being part of the faculty is the strong sense of community that permeates the school. She builds connections with her students by sharing laughter and discussing topics that resonate with them, creating a warm and inclusive learning environment.
Beyond the classroom, Kate is a passionate home cook, often sharing culinary adventures with her daughter. Family travel is another of her favorite pastimes, allowing her to explore new cultures and create lasting memories. One particularly humorous moment from her time here involves a student claiming that their father was around when the Titanic sank! If given the opportunity to possess a superpower, Kate would choose teleportation, a convenient way to navigate the demands of her busy life.
While her role as an aide presents its challenges, Kate finds it incredibly rewarding. She is passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of her students and is committed to providing them with the support and encouragement they need to succeed.
