What's Happening at Builta
We had another great week.
- This year is Builta's 25th anniversary and every month we have an all school celebration activity to recognize that fact. This month's anniversary activity occurred today. We decorated snowflake ornaments for seniors receiving Meals on Wheels during the months of November and December. We gathered all students together in the gym to work on this important project. The students did a great job being creative in their decorating. Thank you to the PTA for purchasing the ornaments for the students to use.
- Fifth grade participated in the NAMI Jump into Mental Health program that taught the definition of mental health and spoke to 5th grade students about managing their emotions as well as coping mechanisms and strategies to use when they are feeling sad, anxious, or frustrated.
- We recognized Builta's family Veterans on our Veterans' Honor Wall. Thank you to our families for sharing their special Veterans with us at school.
Please make sure to sign up for Parent Teacher Conferences. The window to sign up for conferences closes on November 19 at 6:00 pm.

We are grateful to our Builta families for supporting and following this new lunch procedure and plan.

If your child forgets something (water bottle, homework, chromebook, etc.) at home or in the car, please do not bring it to school.
Forgotten items are not accepted for drop-off.
Teachers will make sure that students have the materials that they need to make it through the day.
Cooler Weather and Outdoor Recess
Fall is here along with cooler weather. Please make sure that your children are dressed appropriately for the weather and have their coats, hats, and gloves with them at school. Students go outside for a 30 minute recess everyday.
In IPSD 204, outdoor recess is held when the temperature is 5 Degrees and Above (including the wind chill).
In 2014, the Indian Prairie Educational Foundation (IPEF) teamed up with District 204 to recognize the positive impact of educators. Every month, one staff member will be recognized and celebrated as an A+ Award winner.
You can watch previous surprise award presentations at A+ Award videos. A complete list of previous winners is online at A+ Award recipients.
A+ Award Nomination Criteria
- We welcome nominations from parents, alumni and community members, and strongly encourage students to submit nominations as well. A+ Award Nominations must include an essay (of 50-500 words) describing how this staff member has positively impacted students. District 204 staff members are not eligible to submit nominations.
- Nominations are rolling. All nominations submitted will be kept for consideration until the end of the current school year.
- Nominees must be currently employed by District 204.
- Nominations will be shared with those you nominate.
