Lark Community,
November is here! We want to take a moment to share our appreciation for your partnership . Our students have such amazing support and opportunities to learn and our community welcoming and filled with joyful experiences that will be remembered for a lifetime.
Thank you for a wonderful October Parent-Teacher Conference. We appreciate the time to connect, share student progress, and work together to support each child’s growth. October was full of celebrations as well! Our students proudly represented our school in the district-wide Cross Country Race, bringing hard work and Lark PRIDE to the field. We also enjoyed a successful Trunk or Treat event and classroom Halloween parties, thanks to our amazing families who volunteered their time and creativity. Our students’ costumes brought smiles and joy throughout the school!
As we move into November, we’re wrapping up Bullying Prevention Month, which has been a meaningful journey in learning about empathy, respect, and kindness through the Second Step Bullying Curriculum. This week, students will celebrate their understanding by dressing as Anti-Bullying Superheroes—a powerful reminder of the role they each play in creating a positive school culture.
In the classroom, students are diving into so much exciting learning. Across our school students are engaged in their first informational writing unit including the process of researching, note-taking, and sharing their discoveries—a wonderful way to build their skills and confidence in learning and expressing new ideas. We are also building on our speaking and listening skills K-5, practicing habits for discussion that support our students skills in articulating their thinking make connections with one another, building on others ideas r and listening for clarity- These foundational skills in writing, speaking, and listening are empowering our students to become confident communicators and collaborative learners, preparing them for success both inside and outside the classroom
We are grateful for our Meadowlark Community and wish you and your families a November full of connection, gratitude, and joy,
Stephanie Auday
Principal

SCHOOL SYSTEMS and SAFETY UPDATES
- **Cooler weather has finally arrived. Please be sure to send your child with layers to support them in a comfortable experience in the classroom, as well as outdoors. Don't forget to LABEL EVERYTHING, which helps us get any missing items back to the classroom, instead of hanging out it lost and found all season.
- Important: PETS of any kind are not allowed on school grounds. As community members, we ask your support by not bringing pets and sharing this information with others as you drop-off and pick-up your child. District Security has also been walking our school grounds with this important reminder. While you may feel your pet is safe around children, not all families feel the same. If you would like to walk your pet, please have your child meet you at the school grounds boundary, outside the fenced areas.
- The doors open for BREAKFAST daily at 7:35. Students are not supervised prior to this time, please be sure to stay with your child until the doors are opened each morning.
- For student SAFETY, using the Hug and Go Lane instead of meeting your child on the city street is a much safer choice with slower speeds within the lots. We have timed it- and you should move through the lane in under 10 minutes-a quick and easy way for a safe drop-off and pick-up.
