SPRING DATES HAVE BEEN ADDED TO THE LIBRARY VOLUNTEER CALENDAR!
Have you heard how much fun it is to volunteer in the library, but you thought it was too late to sign up this year? It's not!
I enthusiastically welcome volunteers in the Library to help check books in and out, assist with shelving, and other easy-to-learn tasks. You may come during your child’s library class or during a different class - whichever works best for your schedule. Please email me at driscollb@chelmsford.k12.ma.us if you would like to be included in the rotating volunteer schedule. Let me know how often you would prefer to come in (weekly, monthly, once or twice a year) . Please note that some classes will have more opportunities to come in than others, depending on how many volunteers sign up. I look forward to hearing from you!
MORE LIBRARY NEWS:
Due to the long holiday break, Kindergarten and First grade students did not borrow library books this week. During their class, I gave each (K & Gr. 1) student a book to keep, with the option to trade with a friend. They are not expected to bring these books back to school. If I haven't already, I will contact families whose kindergarten or first grade students still have library books checked out.
Students in Grades 2-4 had the option to borrow a book from the school library with the understanding that they return them on their first library class after break. If you are going to travel during the holiday, I ask that you have your child leave their school library books at home.
The public library is open most of the break, with lots of fun activities planned! Chelmsford Public Library will be closed all day December 24-25, after 1 pm on December 31, and all day January 1. Otherwise, they will be operating under normal library hours. https://www.chelmsfordlibrary.org/
