We understand that some students may decide a different route and wish to withdrawal from school. In this newsletter, the withdrawal process is explained.
Withdraw Process
A student must be at least 17 years old to withdraw from school. The three (3) step process that is required to withdraw from school includes:
- The student and parent/guardian schedule a meeting at the home school with the counselor and administrator.
- The student and parent/guardian must schedule to take the TABE test at the Fayette Institute of Technology. Mrs. Holly Pannell will administer the TABE once it is scheduled.
- Once the scores of the TABE are available, the student and parent/guardian will schedule the final exit meeting with the Director of Attendance, Ms. Hedrick at the Fayette County Board of Education. The student and parent/guardian will bring the test scores and paperwork to the exit meeting. During the exit meeting. the Adult Basic Education forms will be completed so the student will be able to work toward their GED. Once all forms are completed, the school will be notified to drop the student on the day following the meeting. All school issued devices and textbooks must be return prior to the final day.
