Senior of the Week
Stephanie Herrera-Mijarez is a dedicated student who has always kept her spirits high. She approaches each obstacle with resilience and optimism that inspires those around her. Her teachers are so proud of her and all she has accomplished!
Athlete of the Week
Ysabella Yulo has recently shown a lot of initiative. Last week, she ran 50 miles in a week, including a long run of 11 miles and a few double-run days. In Cross-Country, high mileage yields results, and although we have not raced yet, her work ethic this summer is setting her up for a phenomenal season.
Scholar of the Week
Arthur Liang is an exceptional student. He distinguished himself as the most capable AP Calculus AB pupil. His prowess extended to Calculus BC, where he consistently ranked at the top of his class. Beyond his remarkable academic achievements, he also demonstrates athletic versatility as a valued member of the boys' tennis team.
Arts Person of the Week
Ruben Leyva is a dedicated professional in the automotive industry. He consistently strives for self-improvement and excellence in his craft. His strong work ethic and commitment to growth make him a valuable asset in the fast-paced automotive technology and repair world.
IB 20th Century History Class
In IB 20th Century History, students are investigating civil rights and protest movements in the 20th century, focusing on the Civil Rights Movement in the United States and apartheid in South Africa. As part of their historical investigation, students presented on key individuals and events that demonstrated how racial segregation operated in the United States during the 1950s.

Photo II students Solomon Park, Conel Kim, Chloe Chow, Ernest Gomez, Brian Won, and Charlton Kanginan created other-worldly scenes through an infrared editing technique.

Seniors, interested in applying to a UC school? The Fall 2025 UC application opened on August 1! Start by creating an account on the UC Admissions website, where you’ll fill out personal information, academic history, and activities. Be sure to write thoughtful personal insight questions and meet all deadlines. Remember, you can apply to multiple UC campuses with one application. The deadline for submission is Dec. 2nd, so don’t wait—start your application early!
