Dear Explorer Families-
Thank you to all our Talent Show participants! You showed us some great talent and courage to get up in front of your peers and teachers!
THANK YOU to the BEST PTA ever for treating our teachers to a coffee treat this week and pizza on the last day of school. We are so fortunate to have such caring and generous parents at SWE! I must say, our PTA is simply wonderful, and they provide our students with the best learning opportunities available!
It was an OUTSTANDING school year! We wish everyone a fun and safe summer!🥰

A Year of PTA Milestones — Thanks to You!
As we wrap up the year and the warm summer air ushers in, I want to send a sincere THANK YOU to the entire Settlers Way PTA Community!
The PTA's mission is to make every child’s potential a reality by engaging and empowering families and communities to advocate for all children. Our accomplishments are only possible because of you - your time, your donations, your passion.
I want to extend an extra special THANK YOU to the 2024-25 PTA Board Members who took on a leadership role within our PTA this year to lead the charge on several initiatives.
Without your vision, leadership, and execution, we could not have achieved all we did this year! I have so enjoyed volunteering side-by-side with each of you, and will miss those stepping back from board positions next year: Sophia Johnykutty, Dhanashree Kale, Christine Lee, Jessica Harris, Mariyah Dhedhi, and Maria Elena Cruz.
Finally, I want to share the roster of amazing parents who have stepped up to volunteer on the 2025-26 PTA Board! I am so excited to be leading the SWE PTA again next year alongside this amazing group of volunteers.
A special welcome to those brand new to the board: Diane Foote, Emily Huynh, Nicole Collins, Gina Bejar, Thelma Batz, and Alyse Gomez. We are so grateful for you!
I hope everyone enjoys their summer breaks ... the PTA board will be working hard over the summer to plan some more amazing activities for us next year!

Volunteer Appreciation
We extend our warmest congratulations to Ms. Diane Foote as our 2024-2025 VIPs of the year. Diane is a highly valued volunteer who consistently and generously gives her time and energy whenever needed.
Her indispensable contributions to SWE have been invaluable year after year, and we express our sincere gratitude for her unwavering dedication to our students and staff. Please join me in congratulating her the next time you see her on campus.
Diane is a native Texan who has lived in the Houston area since 1971. Her seven-year-old great-granddaughter, Harlee, lives with her and brings immense joy to her life. They love to travel and visit the beach whenever they can. When she’s not volunteering with the PTA, Diane donates her time to the Houston Area Women’s Center. She and Harlee also volunteer together at the Houston Food Bank.

Teacher Appreciation Week: Wicked Awesome!
PTA volunteers helped SWE teachers and staff celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week from May 5–9. Each day featured a fun surprise inspired by a “Wicked” theme — from breakfast in Emerald City to POPular treats, a whimsical “Which Witch is Which” day, and a magical celebration of our staff “Defying Gravity.”
The week wrapped up with a journey down the Yellow Brick Road. Teachers enjoyed daily treats, games, and prizes as a heartfelt thank-you for everything they do.
Last Week of School
To wrap up the school year, SWE teachers and staff were treated to Tom’s Coffee Truck and Double Good popcorn. We hope everyone enjoyed this sweet summer send-off!
