News & Information for Tiger Families
Letter from the Principal
Dear Tiger Families,
We have a fun-filled week ahead! ☘️😊
St. Patrick’s Day – Monday, March 17th
Students may wear a green top with their uniform bottoms to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day!
Kickoff to Our 3rd Annual “Anything But a…” Fundraiser!
Monday also marks the start of our 3rd Annual Anything But a… Fundraiser! Each day, students will participate in something a little out of the ordinary, all while raising money for a great cause.
Not to mention, the student who raises the most money next week (March 17th - March 21st) will get to pie Mrs. Green at the Pep Assembly on March 24th! Let’s make this our best Anything But a… Fundraiser ever!
The Irish Prayer
"May God give you...
For every storm, a rainbow,
For every tear, a smile,
For every care, a promise,
And a blessing in each trial.
For every problem life sends,
A faithful friend to share,
For every sigh, a sweet song,
And an answer for each prayer."
Wishing you all a wonderful and blessed week!
As always, we thank you for sharing your student with us. We appreciate your trust, support, and partnership. TIGERS LEAD THE WAY!
TIGERS TOGETHER FOR ADAM!
Sincerely,
Nicole Green
Principal
Stand Up For Life Today
March 11, 2025
Dear Friends in Christ,
For some time now I have been writing and preaching concerning the importance of defending human life from conception until natural death. As residents of Illinois at this very moment we face a serious threat with the introduction of two bills in the Illinois State Assembly; SB 9 (in the State Senate) and HB 1328 (in the State House ). These two bills, if passed and signed into law, would authorize medical aid in dying. The legislation would allow mentally capable adults with 6 months or less to live to seek the assistance of medical personnel to acquire and use lethal drugs to end their lives immediately.
It is a humane teaching and practice that we do not kill those who are ill or suffering. Medical providers work on curing the sick and healing them. If medical treatment is unsuccessful and a person’s illness is terminal, we believe in providing palliative care during which pain is managed and the dignity of the patient is respected until natural death.
It is very important that we resist and oppose SB 9 and HB 1328, because if medical personnel are used to facilitate the taking of human life, our culture can easily cross a line in which ending your life by taking lethal drugs is not only a possibility but becomes an expectation. This can also open the door for insurance companies to object to funding palliative care and insist they will only fund the drugs for accelerating the death of a patient. Do we really want matters of life and death to depend on whether the insurance company will pay for palliative care?
Friends, I urge you to immediately contact your State Senator and State House member and tell them you oppose SB 9 and HB 1328 and want them to also oppose the bills. These bills are under consideration in both state houses right now. Our legislators need to hear from us today.
On a related note, please keep in your prayers the many people, especially our youth, who will gather for the Mass for Life and Pro-Life March in Springfield on March 25, the Solemnity of the Annunciation of our Lord. How fitting that on the day we liturgically celebrate the wonder of the Eternal Word becoming flesh in the womb of the Virgin Mary through the overshadowing of the Holy Spirit, we will gather to pray for an increase in respect for human life at all of life’s stages and with all of life’s vulnerabilities. Please unite your prayers with me and all the participants in Springfield. Let’s pray and work together to promote the dignity of every human being in Illinois and beyond.
God bless you all!

Three St. Teresa students who are members of Pack 8019 received The Don Sax Memorial Scouting Scholarship this past August. Each Scout was to complete a service project in Don's memory, and these young men did not disappoint! Second grader Maxwell, third grader Austin, and fourth grader Henry, each chose a project that surely would have made Don VERY proud. Maxwell, along with some help from his brothers, made turkeys filled with goodies and shared them with the residents at Mercy Rehab and Care Center in Swansea. Austin created handmade cards, and he and his mom delivered them to the residents at the Shrine. And, Henry joined by Mr. Cozzi, spruced up the parish garage and back patio, which included moving and cleaning all of the furniture, sweeping and pressure washing! Don is indeed smiling down on all three of these Scouts and their families. Well done, boys, well done.
Do you have something to share?
