This week students used legos to model how DNA creates RNA to then build proteins. Today we're talking briefly about CRISPR and its possibilities for the future. Next week we will discuss genotype and phenotype and then have our first DNA quiz on Friday. Students will receive a study guide.

Math 7 students are finishing Unit 4 on solving linear equations and systems.
Math 8 students are finishing Unit 4 on percentages and proportional relationships.
All students will review and practice activities to prepare them for their End of unit 4 Assessment for both grades. All students will start working on activities to prepare them for their written responses on assessments. All grade 7 students will complete their 16th I-Ready lesson for the year or the 10th for this second term.

This week the scholars examined the main Emperors of Ancient India. The scholars completed a graphic organizer of the accomplishments of the three emperors and determined who was the best ruler. The scholars further examined the life and reign of Ashoka to decide if the Ashoka could reach nirvana. The scholars examined the innovations of ancient India. Next week the scholars will take the summative test on India.
