Principal's Post
What an exciting week it has been here in Raider Nation! We kicked off the week by celebrating Red Ribbon Week, where we united in our commitment to living drug-free lives. The presentation from Keystone truly inspired us all, reinforcing the importance of making healthy choices.
In sports, our football team wrapped up their season with an exciting victory against Dutchman Creek. It was a nail-biting game that showcased the hard work and determination of our players. Congratulations to the team on a fantastic season!
A special shout-out goes to our sixth graders, who won the Student Lighthouse Team Food/Supply Drive! Their generosity and spirit exemplify the values we cherish in our school community.
We also held an amazing Leader in Me House Party, where students showcased their leadership skills and teamwork. It was heartwarming to see everyone come together to celebrate our leadership goals and achievements.
I am so proud of the dedication our teachers and staff show every day to enhance our school environment. This week, they participated in collaborative Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) and received valuable professional development focused on improving instructional strategies.
Additionally, we completed our Continuous Improvement review, which provided us with insightful feedback as we continue our journey to foster growth in all our students.
Thank you for your continued support in making our school a better place for everyone. Together, we are building a bright future for Raider Nation!
#ChangeStartsWithMe!
The "Leader in Me" Habit 1 is "Be Proactive," which means taking responsibility for your own choices and actions, not blaming others, and actively choosing your attitude and behavior; essentially, understanding that you have the power to influence your own life and make positive decisions, even in challenging situations.
November is Native American Heritage Month
We are celebrating Native American Heritage to recognize the achievements and contributions of Hispanic American champions who have inspired others to achieve success.
Red Ribbon Week
Why we wear a Red Ribbon.....
Red Ribbon Week began in 1985 at Calexico High School as "Camarena Clubs." Friends of DEA Agent Enrique "Kiki" Camarena encouraged students and staff to wear a red ribbon as a pledge to remain drug-free, honoring Agent Camarena’s life and his efforts to combat drug trafficking. As the initiative gained popularity nationwide, President Ronald Reagan and First Lady Nancy Reagan made Red Ribbon Week official in 1988 through The National Family Partnership. Since then, millions of young people each year have demonstrated their commitment to a healthy, drug-free life and their intolerance for drugs in schools, workplaces, and communities by wearing the iconic red ribbon.
Red Ribbon Week at RRMS
From October 23rd-31st, schools across the country have the opportunity to promote a drug-free lifestyle and encourage our students to make healthy choices. This year's theme, "Life is a Movie. Film Drug Free," serves as a powerful reminder of our role in shaping the future of our students. Throughout the week, we engaged in activities that foster awareness, support, and education on the dangers of drug use.

Let's Go Raiders!
For the WIN!!!
Raiders vs Dutchman Creek Highlights
The Raiders capped off a season with a great win, 20-18 over a talented Dutchman Creek team, in probably the best action game of the year. The Raiders led 14-6 at the half and we preached to the guys that Dutchman Creek is the defending conference champions and they were not going to just lay down. “This game had so many ups and downs throughout the night as well as so many big plays in every aspect of the game,” stated Coach Weathers. “When you play a high-powered team like Dutchman Creek and you have a chance to put them away, that’s what you must do. We let them hang around and then we were in a defensive dog fight the entire second half.”
Offensive Highlights:
Peyton Werts completed 2 touchdown passes to Dash Holley and a key 2 point conversion to Kiantre Neely. Dash Holley also had a 1-yard rushing touchdown as well. Peyton also made numerous key passes throughout the game to Kiantre Neely and a massive 60 plus yard 3rd and long pass play to AJ Pettus to help set up the Raiders final touchdown of the night.
Defensive Highlights:
The defense had to put out numerous fires last night due to a very resilient offense of Dutchman Creek. The defense made a lot of key plays in big moments.
Dash Holley----------8 tackles, 2.5 sacks
Kiantre Neely-------4 tackles
Jaden Joseph-------3 tackles
Zylan Whitlock-----2 tackles
Andre Ross----------2 tackles
Kaydin Peoples-----3 tackles, 1 sack
Kayden Laney-------1 tackle, 1 sack, fumble recovery
AJ Pettus-------------1 sack, 1 fumble recovery
Owen Faile-----------3 tackles, 1 forced fumble
Liam Starnes---------4 tackles, 1 sack
Thank you to all the staff, administration, coaches, and parents for making this a successful season for the Raiders. The Raiders finished up the year with a 4-3 record. “The season had several ups and downs as well as key wins and losses. We got so much better as the year went along. We are looking forward to next year and carrying what we have accomplished this year into next season.”
