Enrichment Update + Spanish Spring Enrollment I Ross History
Ross Enrichment Update - DC Strings + Spanish Spring Enrollment Is Live!
The enrichment committee met last week and reviewed current and potential future enrichments. Ross is exploring a partnership with DC Strings for the coming school year for instrumental music lessons. To learn more, please attend the Parent Coffee on Wednesday, March 27 at 8:45am in the Ross Cafe to meet with DC Strings. This will be a fee-based enrichment.
Isabella & Ferdinand Spanish spring enrollment is live. This before-school program for students K-5 runs Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:55am to 8:40am at Ross. Learn more and sign up here.

Interested in the History of Ross? Ross Is Applying to "The Story of Our Schools"
Ross is applying to be one of the next schools to participate in The Story of Our Schools to create an exhibition at Ross about its history. If selected, students will have the opportunity to participate throughout the research and exhibit development process. Principal Searl, Ms. Juriga, and parent leadership are moving our application forward. DCPS and DC Government Highlights
Celebrating our Safety Techs: 2024 (Crossing Guard) Appreciation Day
The District’s Department of Transportation (DDOT) will honor and recognize over 200 safety technicians, formerly known as crossing guards, on Friday, March 22. Please say thank you to the safety techs who take their posts every morning and every afternoon during the school year to ensure that student pedestrians and bicyclists make it to school safely. The Ross PTA will be giving a few special surprises, including a card signed by Ross students, to our safety technicians.
DCPS Family Math Expo
Elementary families and DCPS staff members are invited to attend the DCPS Family Math Expo at Houston Elementary School on Saturday, April 6, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Attendees will participate in family math activities and receive resources and tools from partner organizations. Register here.
Stead Park Recreation Center Now Open
The Recreation Center building is now open! No programs are scheduled yet, but the fitness and other facilities are open for use on a first come basis. Holi in Dupont Circle
Dupont Circle will be celebrating India’s most colorful holiday, the Holi Festival, on Sunday, March 24 from 1:00-5:00pm. Festivities begin in Dupont Circle Park with music and dancing, and then progress to The Ven Hotel at 2:00 p.m. for dancing and powder throwing. The Holi Festival is a Hindu holiday that celebrates the end of winter and ushers in spring – celebrating color, love, and new life. It lasts for a night and a day, starting on the evening of the Purnima (full moon day) in the Hindu calendar month of Phalguna, which falls around the middle of March in the Gregorian calendar. This year, Holi falls on March 24. Click here for more info.
