November 7: Awards Ceremonies will be held for last year's grade 10 and 11 students during block 2 and 4. Stay tuned for more information regarding the Awards Ceremonies.
November 11 - 15: Fall Break - no school for students and staff.
SRO in the Know
School Resource Officers (SRO) primary role in the schools throughout Strathcona County is to foster a safe and caring learning environment for students and staff. SRO presence in the schools allows them the opportunity to fosters positive relationships with the staff, students and greater school community. The SROs participate in Violence Threat Risk Assessments (VTRA), Reinstatement Meetings for struggling students, mediations and lockdown drills. They deliver presentations to students on safety, crime prevention, healthy relationships, substance abuse, and bullying etc. The SROs are invited to and attend many positive events including graduation ceremonies, award presentations and career fairs where they continue to support and mentor students.

Your child may be going back to school, getting a job or both. As a parent, you know that they will need to learn how to track their spending, manage loans and credit, budget properly and find other sources of funding like scholarships, bursaries and student aid. These resources can help.
Did you know….Grade 11 marks are used for early acceptance to universities and colleges.

Opportunity Wednesday:
Opportunity Wednesdays take place every week, except for the first Wednesday of each month. This is a valuable time to receive extra help in your core classes, catch up on CTS projects, or visit our wellness center. Throughout the building, you’ll find various ways to enrich your high school experience. Keep an eye out for special events and opportunities posted around the school.
We have partnered with the Community Adult Learning & Literacy Society (CALLS) to provide English as an Additional Language Learners with Conversational English support. This will be available every Opportunity Wednesday from 2:30 – 3:20 p.m. in room 141. Please contact Ms. Footz in Guidance with any questions.
Science Help:
Science Help will be provided on Opportunity Wednesday as well as any other day at lunch or after school. Please email or talk to your teacher to arrange a time that works for both of you.
CTS:
All areas, with the exception of MEC 10, will be available to provide students the opportunity to work on their CTS projects.
