Welcome to the 2023-24 School Year! Parents and students are welcome to view their schools, meet their teachers, and visit with our PTOs at our annual Open House Nights.

• Tuesday, August 22 – Back-to-School Night for K-5, Preschool, and Early Childhood families from 6:00 - 7:30 p.m.

• Wednesday, August 23 – Back-to-School Night for Middle School families from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m.

KSD 140 uses ParentSquare for all school communication, primarily with email, text, and app notifications.

ParentSquare automatically generates an account for each parent, using their preferred email address and phone number. We encourage parents to access their accounts so they can download the mobile app and update their preferences on when and how they are notified.

• Tuesday, August 22 - Open House at Elementary Schools for EC, Preschool, and Grades K-5 from 6 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.
• Wednesday, August 23 - First Day of School for all students (EC-8). Elementary school (K-5) students will attend from 7:55 a.m. - 2:25 p.m. and middle school (6-8) students will attend from 8:45 a.m. - 3:15 p.m. AM Early Childhood students will attend from 7:55 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. PM Early Childhood students will attend from 11:50 a.m. - 2:25 p.m. AM Preschool students will attend from 8:10 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. PM Preschool students will attend from 11:40 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
• Wednesday, August 23 - Open House at Grissom and Prairie View from 6:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
• Monday, September 4 - Labor Day - No School
• Thursday, September 21 - Board of Education Meeting - 7 p.m. at the Administration Center
• Friday, September 22 - Half-Day - Early Dismissal - Elementary schools will be dismissed at 11:10 am and middle schools will be dismissed at 12 noon.
