MES Soaring to Success
Principal weekly update
Good afternoon parents,
First a thank you to all of the staff, students, parents and friends that came out Thursday night to help us kick off our 2nd annual Read-a-thon! The Family Literacy night was a great success! Students had fun participating in art projects, reading poetry and flashlight reading. These were just a few of the amazing activities we had for them. We look forward to making this an annual event!
I also want to take time to thank the 5th grade parents and students that showed up on Monday night to bowl with the 5th grade students and their families from BES. It was an outstanding event and a good time was had by all! Thank you to the parents who coordinated this event!
.
** I want to apologize as well to Thomas Stevens as I inadvertently left his name out as one of the winners of the Invention Convention. Congratulations to him!
All Intervention letters have been sent home last week. If you did not receive a letter your students plan remains the same. This is for in school interventions only. The Afterschool Academic Academy is still the same with a few extra being invited but no one has exited!
In the coming weeks, Mitchell Elementary School will conduct a school-wide practice evacuation to prepare for an event that requires us to leave the school campus. We are collaborating with the Woodbury Emergency Management, Police, and Fire departments. We will report to the school community when the drill is complete.
