Cold Weather Approaching
The mornings are getting chilly and cold weather is right around the corner. Please remember to send a jacket, hat, and gloves with your student for morning recesses.
Conferences
Parent teachers conferences are scheduled for Wednesday October 12 and Thursday October 13 from 4 to 7. Conferences will be 10 to 15 minutes in length. It is important that you attend your child’s scheduled conference, as they provide you with the opportunity to gain an understanding of your student’s strengths and current academic performance. Parent-Teacher conferences also provide an opportunity to build relationships and foster effective and ongoing communication between families and the school.
Pumpkin Contest
The annual pumpkin contest will be making a return this year. Please keep an eye out for additional information in your student’s Friday Folder. This is a fun family event and we look forward to seeing all of the amazing pumpkins!
Homecoming Fun
Students had a great time showing their school spirit with many fun Homecoming activities. The Varsity Football team, Band, and Cheer Squad visited the elementary for a Homecoming pep assembly. Students learned the fight song and cheered on their favorite Huskie players! Students also took part in afterschool activities Friday afternoon. Students played cornhole, Jenga, volleyball, pumpkin ring toss, 9 square, and Gaga ball. Students could also get their face painted and grab a snack. A huge thank you to all the businesses, parents, and staff who helped make this a wonderful success!
Middle & High School Updates
The class of 1972 celebrated their 50th class reunion by attending a home football game on August 26th versus Fulton. They were able to tour the school, check out all our bond updates, and reminisce and share stories. We were glad to have them back!
Spanish Updates
Spanish Trip 2025
Mrs. Avina is planning a 2025 Spring Break trip to Panama and Costa Rica! This trip will be open to staff, HS students, and family members. There will be an informational meeting in Mrs. Avina's spanish classroom on October 13 at 7 PM after the MS/HS Parent Teacher Conferences to discuss details and payment plan options. We hope you can join us!
Independence day!
During the month of September, there are seven Spanish speaking countries that celebrate their Independence Day. Students had a fun day preparing and eating traditional Mexican Sopes in class! (They shared with office staff too - they were delicious!)
Congrats, Manny!

Bond Updates
We've made it back to school and even though school is in session, we are still finalizing projects across the district. Due to supply chain issues, items like windows, doors, and track materials were held up and projects are moving along slower than we would like to see. At the football field, we are waiting for the track rubber surface and the ticket booth to be completed. At the baseball and softball fields, dugouts are being completed. Once this is done, we have a batting cage that will be installed. The biggest interior project that is ongoing is the updating of lighting, technology/projector upgrades, cabinetry in HS classrooms, and doors in the HS. Furniture for the HS media center and cafeteria have arrived and students are enjoying both.
Windows have arrived and were installed in the elementary A-wing. We are scheduling Saturdays and evenings where windows in the Middle School and B and C wing of the elementary will be replaced. Our multipurpose sports room is also on the agenda to be finished up. It's great to have students and staff back daily and see them enjoying the updated spaces. We continue to thank our great community for supporting our district and providing an excellent space for our students to learn.
