The AHS Choir surprised the district office with Christmas Carols
The sight and sound of high school students singing Christmas carols is a reminder that the magic of the season lies not only in the twinkling lights and gift-giving but also in the simple act of coming together and sharing the gift of music and joy with others.
Technology Update
Important Update: Changes to Acceptable Use Policy and AI Policy
Dear Anna ISD Parents and Guardians,
I hope this message finds you well. As part of our ongoing commitment to providing a safe and enriching learning environment for your children, we would like to inform you about some important updates to our technology policies.
Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) Update: We have recently revised our Acceptable Use Policy to reflect the evolving nature of technology in education. The updated AUP outlines the responsible and ethical use of technology resources within the Anna Independent School District. We believe that these changes will better support the educational goals of our students while ensuring a secure and positive digital learning environment.
AI Policy Integration: In recognition of the increasing role of artificial intelligence in education, we have introduced a dedicated AI policy to govern the use of AI technologies within our classrooms. This policy aims to ensure that AI applications are implemented responsibly and ethically, enhancing the learning experience for our students while prioritizing their privacy and well-being.
Google Workspace for Education Enhancement: As part of our efforts to provide a more streamlined and collaborative digital learning experience, we have opted in for third-party app access enhancement for Google Workspace for Education. This enhancement will allow users designated as under 18 to access certain third-party applications that complement and enrich their educational experience within the Google Workspace environment.
We want to assure you that the safety and security of your child's data and online interactions remain our top priority. We have carefully vetted and selected third-party applications that align with our educational goals and adhere to strict privacy and security standards.
We encourage you to review the updated Acceptable Use Policy and AI Policy on our school district's website for a comprehensive understanding of the changes. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to our technology department.
We appreciate your ongoing support in fostering a positive and innovative learning environment for all students at Anna Independent School District. Thank you for entrusting us with the education and well-being of your children.
Business Office Update
MySchoolBucks Program Fee
You may start to see a Fall 2023 Program Fee of $2.50 on your next transaction made on MySchoolBucks. This fee will be charged only in connection with the first payment made during November & December 2023.
Like many other businesses, operational costs to deliver the MySchoolBucks platform and related services have increased. The Fall 2023 Program Fee is intended to help offset increased costs while continuing to provide the highest levels of technology, security, and privacy to parents and administrators using the service.
Student Services
Closet Cleanout Clothes Drive
Anna ISD is hosting a Closet Cleanout Clothes Drive benefiting the Trusted World Network. Trusted World is a North Texas-based, non-profit organization that works with our campus counselors to provide size-specific clothing at no cost to our district or families. Nothing that you donate goes to waste. Anything unsuitable for reuse is sold to a textile recycling center, and the money made is used to purchase new socks and undergarments. Use this holiday break to make extra room in your closet!
Anna Community Resource Fair
Anna ISD is excited to partner with L.I.F.T. R&R to host a community nonprofit resource fair, bringing together 40 nonprofit organizations that service the Collin County community. We want to connect families with the resources and services they need and foster collaboration, support, and awareness for the incredible organizations serving our area.
Nonprofit leaders and representatives will be available to share information, answer questions, and discuss how their organizations can help you and your community. Whether you want to become a volunteer or network or need free resources, informational materials, and giveaways, we can’t wait to see you there!

Nominate an Anna ISD employee for a Coyote Salute
WHAT IS A COYOTE SALUTE?
It's our monthly employee recognition program. A Coyote Salute is awarded to individual staff members, and a Collaborative Coyote Salute is awarded to a group of staff members that have done something EXTRA special and beyond their regular job duties.
WHY:
We want to intentionally honor staff members who have gone the EXTRA mile for our students.
WHO:
Think of teachers using innovative teaching strategies or support staff members who go that extra mile to make our children feel safe and loved. This award is not limited to individual recipients. Collaboration encourages professional growth and student success. We would also like to honor teams of staff members who collectively worked on a positive project or had a fantastic outcome on something important to our students.
HOW:
Any Anna ISD employee, parent, or community member may nominate AISD staff members who have gone above and beyond their specific job duties by filling out this form. From your nominations, a recognition committee will select the recipients for a Coyote Salute and the groups for a Collaborative Coyote Salute.
WHEN:
You may nominate staff anytime you see someone or a group that goes above and beyond their regular job duties. Staff members who have been selected for a Coyote Salute or Collaborative Coyote Salute will be notified by the Administration and recognized at an upcoming board meeting.
