The first day of school is almost here, and we can't wait to see our students! Teachers and staff are busy preparing classrooms while also engaging in professional development sessions to ensure this year kicks off on a strong note.
As we prepare for the first day of school on September 5th, I want to remind you of an important event that will help us kick off the year on a positive note. Our Meet The Teacher event is scheduled for September 3rd from 1:45 to 2:30 PM. This is a wonderful opportunity for you and your child to visit the classroom, meet their teacher, and familiarize yourselves with the learning environment. We encourage you to attend this event to help your child feel comfortable and excited about the upcoming school year. Families can also drop off student supplies during this event.
We look forward to seeing all of our students on September 5th, ready to learn and grow. If you have any questions or need further information, please don't hesitate to contact the school office.

Medical Forms
Please kindly drop off any needed forms and medications at our Nurse's Office any time between now and September 5th. Please take a moment to review the important medical information below. We look forward to a healthy and happy school year!
All students new to District 15 will require a current physical exam with all immunizations up to date (Certificate of Child Health Examination), and students new to the State of Illinois will require an eye examination. This form is available in the school office, online, and here: State of Illinois Eye Examination Report.
All students should provide proof of immunizations by October 15, 2024 or the student will be excluded from school. The list of current immunizations can be found on the district website here: IDPH Health Requirements.
Students with health conditions such as asthma, epilepsy/seizures, severe allergies, and diabetes require the emergency action plan completed by their physician along with the Medication Administration Forms, signed by the physician and parent, for any medications required at school. Please bring these forms and medications on or before the first day of school. These forms are available in the school office, online, and here.
Diabetic Medical Management Plans must be brought in along with medication and supplies prior to or on the first day of school in order for the student to attend. If your child requires any of these health documents and you have not done so already, please kindly make an appointment with your doctor as soon as possible. If you have any questions regarding the above requirements, you may contact our school office. Thank you for your patience.
Parent Orientation
We will be hosting our Parent Orientation Night on Wednesday, September 4th for Kindergarten and Wednesday September 11th for Grades 1-5. Our schedule for the evening is listed below. We look forward to sharing our learning plans and expectations for the upcoming school year. This is an informational evening for parents/guardians ONLY. Thank you for saving the date!

PTA News
If you are new to Sanborn or a returning family, PTA would love for you to join and become a member. The PTA is a collaborative partnership between parents, teachers, and school staff, dedicated to supporting our school community in various meaningful ways. Sanborn loves our PTA!
PTA will also host a Back to School Picnic on September 6th from 5:00-7:00pm. Families are encouraged to bring a blanket and picnic dinner/snacks and can sit on the grass while they enjoy the company of families and friends.

Formularios médicos

Orientación para padres
Seremos anfitriones de nuestra Noche de Orientación para Padres el miércoles 4 de septiembre para Kindergarten y el miércoles 11 de septiembre para los grados 1.º a 5.º. Nuestro horario para esa noche se encuentra a continuación. Esperamos compartir con ustedes nuestros planes de aprendizaje y expectativas para el próximo año escolar. La PTA es una asociación colaborativa entre padres, maestros y personal escolar, dedicada a apoyar a nuestra comunidad escolar de varias maneras significativas. ¡Sanborn ama a nuestra PTA!
La PTA también organizará un "Back to School Picnic" el 6 de septiembre de 5:00 a 7:00 p. m. Si gustan asistir, se les sugiere a las familias a traer una cobija y una cena o merienda tipo picnic y pueden sentarse en el césped mientras disfrutan de la compañía de familiares y amigos.
