Our Mission: “To share the Good News of Jesus Christ, teach children, and assist parents in training children to be witnessing Christians and productive citizens.”
Weekly Devotion
“The LORD is good to those who wait for him, to the soul who seeks him. It is good that one should wait quietly for the salvation of the LORD.” (Lamentations 3:25-26)
It was that great philosopher, Thomas Petty, who once said, “The waiting is the hardest part.” We don’t like to wait. We don’t want to wait for Christmas to get here or my birthday to get here to start opening presents. We don’t like to wait, so we put in an order on Amazon to have it brought directly to our doors.
But we also don’t want to wait when we’re experiencing hardship. We don’t want to wait for a biopsy or diagnosis. If you’ve ever waited at the bedside of a loved one who is near death, you know how hard that is. We don’t want to wait for a solution to something to gradually appear, so we take action.
But that’s not how it is with God. God calls you to wait quietly for your salvation from Him. That’s because there’s nothing we can do to add to our salvation. We’ve already fallen short of the glory of God (Romans 3:21), and our righteousness is already but filthy rags before God (Isaiah 64:6). We are dead in our trespasses and sins (Ephesians 2:1), and a dead man can’t do anything, let alone save himself.
But even more so, dear saints, this call to wait quietly for the Lord’s salvation is a reminder that our salvation is already accomplished in Christ. “It is finished,” He says from the cross. There, He who kept the Law of God perfectly for you also takes on the punishment of your sins, thus fulfilling everything the Law demands of you. There remains nothing left for you to do but to wait for Him. Rest in Him. He’s done it all!
Let us pray: O God, by His patient endurance, Your Son Jesus Christ, waited patiently on the cross and in the tomb for you to raise Him from the dead. Help us, who have been saved by Him, to wait in trust and hope for salvation from You. Amen.

Lutheran Central Welcomes Mrs. Peggy Stark
Please, let me introduce myself! My name is Peggy Stark. I will be filling in for Mrs. Montgomery in the third grade classroom while she is on maternity leave.
Here is a little information about myself. I live in Seymour with my husband, Steve, and 2 golden retrievers, Copper and Cooper. We have four grown children and 14 grandchildren. I have 30 years of experience in the classroom in the public school system, and one year at Immanuel Seymour. Since retiring from Seymour Community Schools in 2013, I have enjoyed subbing, tutoring Japanese students, gardening, and traveling while camping. I have been a lifetime member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Seymour and served on several boards.
I am honored to be able to serve our Lord by teaching at Lutheran Central in Brownstown. Teaching has always been a passion of mine, and to be able to share the news of Jesus's love for us in the classroom is such a gift to me. However, since I do not have my colloquy certification, I will not be teaching the religion class, but Mrs. Scheiderer will be teaching that for me.
I hope to make this a smooth transition for the children, and I truly look forward to meeting you and working with you and your child.
In service to our Lord,
Peggy Stark
