News from Mr. Culbreth
Warrior Family,
I'm excited to say that we have had a great start to our school year. In August, all of our students were sorted into their Houses at the House sorting party and now we watch as the competition begins for who can earn the most House points. Encourage your student to earn House points at school by going above and beyond to display the Warrior Way: Learning to Succeed, Making Responsible Choices, and Showing Respect. Students can earn points for academic and behavioral performance. Please take a moment to talk with your student about their House.
There are a few things to remember as we go into September. Please remember there will be a student half-day on September 20th. Students will be released at 11:45 on this day. We will also have our first school dance during school hours on September 13th. The cost is $3 and concessions will be sold.
As always, I encourage you to communicate with the school whenever you have questions or concerns. We know that student success increases when there is a strong relationship between the school and the home. Please do not hesitate to email me at mculbreth@catoosa.k12.ga.us when you have questions and/or concerns.

Nurse Notes
Hope everyone is having a great beginning of a new school year!!!
Just a few reminders from the clinic:
1. Medications, per Catoosa County Public Schools policy, are not to be carried with students to school, unless prior approval has been received.
2. Health plans- if your child has a health condition that requires an emergency Rx (Ex: asthma, diabetes, seizures, food allergy) please make sure appropriate paperwork and Rx have been turned in to the clinic.
3. PINK CLINIC FORMS- everyone received one in the red folder at the beginning of the school year. This form allows your child to be given specific over-the-counter (OTC) meds as needed when at school. Please make sure your child has turned in this form.
4. ILLNESSES- as a reminder, your child must be fever-free for >24 hours, without taking fever-reducing meds. There are a few things already going around here at school. To help in the passing of these illnesses, PLEASE
- wash hands frequently
- keep hands away from face/out of mouth
- cough/sneeze into the bend of arm
- get plenty of rest
- get plenty of water to drink
- stay home if sick
5. phone #s- please make sure your contact # has been updated in our system so that if I need to get ahold of you, I have a working #.
Please email or call if you have any questions,
Nurse Janice
