School Hours
School Hours:
Doors open at 7:30am.
Classes start at 7:45 am and dismisses at 3:15pm on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. Students are dismissed at 2:00pm every Wednesday for early release.
Students must be in their classroom by 7:45am to avoid being tardy. If you are late, you need to sign in at the office and get a pass before going to class.
Reminder About Firearms From Officer Peeters
I wanted to send a friendly reminder out to all of the fellow hunters and those who partake in recreation shooting sports. It is that time of year where we are in the midst of several open hunting seasons that allow the use of archery and/or firearm weapons. If you are like I was in high school, you may enjoy hunting before or after school. If you plan to do so, make sure you have a place to store the weapon away from school while you are at school.
Wisconsin law states that possession of a firearm on school property is a felony. The law further states that it is also illegal to possess a firearm within 1,000 feet of school property. This means that you cannot simply park your vehicle across the street for the day as that would be within 1,000 feet of school property.
As far as bows/crossbows/BB/pellet guns and other dangerous weapons, state law states that possession of a dangerous weapon other than a firearm on school property is a misdemeanor (not a felony, but still a criminal violation).
Furthermore, state law states that any student who is in possession of a firearm on school property MUST appear before the school board for an expulsion hearing.
This information is regarding legal consequences. If any student is found to be in possession of ANY weapon on school property, that student will receive separate school discipline up to and possibly including expulsion.

Letter Jacket Fitting Dates
Representatives from Ripon Jacket will be on hand for award jacket fittings on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, during all lunch periods. Fittings will take place in the Commons Area. If you are getting fitted, please have the order form filled out, accompanied by your $100.00 deposit. If you usually wear a sweater or sweatshirt underneath your jacket, please bring that to the fitting, along with any decoration you may have, e. g. Varsity Letter. One will also be at the Fall Sports banquet on Monday, November 18. He will be here about 90 minutes before the event. Please see the attached photo for more information.
Order forms can be picked up in the office.

El Día de los Muertos
El Día de los Muertos (Nov. 1-2) is a colorful celebration about remembering deceased loved ones. It takes place during the monarch butterfly migration and, according to traditional beliefs, the monarch butterflies represent the souls of ancestors who are returning to Earth for their annual visit. Butterfly Migration
On the wall by the lunch line there is information about Day of the Dead as well as butterflies to color in memory of a loved one. Additionally, for staff- there will be butterflies placed in both lounges next week to color while you eat. You are invited to take a monarch butterfly to color in honor of your loved one(s). Then, give the butterfly to Sra. Resop or Srta. Burns (mailboxes) to put on the Día de los Muertos bulletin board.

REMINDER: EXTRACURRICULAR ATTENDANCE POLICY - PRACTICE & COMPETITION
***Students must be in attendance for the entire school day in order to practice or compete in an event. ***
Special circumstances may merit exception with prior approval from the Principal/Dean of Students, or designee. To see if the absence can be approved:
- Step 1 - Parent/Guardian notification to office (Mrs. Prado, Mrs. Stadler or Mrs. Dobberstein) at least 24 hours prior to absence)
- Step 2 - If absence is approved, Student picks up signed Excused Slip from office
- Step 3 - Student gives signed Excused Slip to coach/advisor to participate the day of the absence
If an absence is deemed unexcused it will result in ineligibility for participation in extracurricular activities until the next full day of attendance.

The application is now live. A parent can access the site using these instructions. Payment is made directly to the department through the application, using a credit or debit card or by ACH direct withdrawal. Once the permit application process is complete, the Department mails a paper copy of the permit directly to the employer.
In addition, we have reorganized our employment of minors web pages. The information you need is linked at the bottom of this page, including a guide to hazardous and prohibited work, the hours and times of day restrictions for minors, and links to the appropriate statutes and codes.

Fox Valley Area Labor Council Essay Contest
EmpowHER Meet and Greet
Our mission is to enforce a positive change for women in the construction industry. Our goal is to be visible and to normalize the role of women in construction.
As part of apprenticeship week in November, we will be hosting a Tradeswomen Meet and Greet. This will be at the Carpenter’s Training Center in Kaukauna. I have attached a flyer with more information about this event. Please share with your students and anyone else who may be interested.

2025 BBB Students of Integrity Scholarship
Better Business Bureau® (BBB) is pleased to extend an invitation to students in your school to apply for the 2025 BBB Students of Integrity Scholarship
Deadline: Wednesday, February 28, 2025 by 4:00 p.m. (including both letters of reference). There are no exceptions to this deadline.
To be eligible for this scholarship, the student must:
- Be a Wisconsin state resident
- Be a high school senior
- Have at least a 3.0 GPA, or show consistent academic improvement over time
- Plan to attend a Wisconsin-based accredited Higher Education Institution (two or four-year) starting in the fall of 2025

Conservation Poster Contest
The Winnebago County Land & Water Conservation Department invites K5 through 12th grade students in Winnebago County to participate in the 2024-2025 Conservation Awareness Poster Contest.
The theme for the 2024-2025 school year is "Home is where the Habitat is."
Posters and entry forms are due by 5:00pm on Tuesday, December 3, 2024 to the Winnebago County Land & Water Conservation Department.
Poster Contest Guidelines
- Poster size must be 12" x 18" OR 14" x 22"
- The 2025 National Contest Theme, "Home is where the Habitat is," must be written on each poster.
- All posters shall be created by an individual student, rather than a team of students.
- Any media may be used: paint, crayon, colored pencil, charcoal, stickers, paper or other materials on regular posters. Computer-generated posters will not be accepted.
- To be eligible for judging, each entry must have a completed and signed entry form attached to the back.
