Principals Message:
Dear Eagle Nation,
I am pleased to announce that the repairs to the broken pipe in front of our school building have been completed. We will resume our normal pick-up and drop-off procedures on Monday, February 24, meaning the north parking lot will be open for car traffic starting with Monday morning’s drop-off. Please note that if you are on campus over the weekend, the fenced area in front of the school will remain closed through Sunday as the new concrete on our sidewalk needs additional time to dry. I want to extend my sincere thanks to the CSD Maintenance Department, CSD Transportation, our Campus Safety Liaisons, CHS custodians, and all our CHS staff for their quick response and dedication in getting this pipe fixed. I also appreciate the patience and flexibility of our students and families during the recent changes in our traffic pattern, which allowed us to complete these repairs efficiently. This collaborative effort truly supports CSD’s Strategic Plan – Roadmap '27, Goal #2: Supporting Every Student’s Well-being & Inclusion. Thank you for your continued support and for making a difference in our Eagle Nation.
New Whiteboard Furniture: A Collaborative Effort by Nike & CSD Maintenance
Speaking of collaborative efforts that truly support CSD’s Strategic Plan – Roadmap '27, Goal #2: Supporting Every Student’s Well-being & Inclusion, I’d like to extend a special shout-out to Nike and our CSD Maintenance Department. They are partnering to refurbish our classrooms with updated whiteboard furniture. Nike is generously donating the new classroom furniture through the Sustainability Group, and our CSD Maintenance Department is installing it.
On Friday, one classroom was updated as a model, giving staff and students a firsthand look at what a modernized classroom environment could be. This initiative paves the way for updating many of our classrooms in the future. Thank you for once again making a meaningful difference in our CHS community.
CSD Profile of a Graduate Worksession at CHS
Thank you to everyone who took part in Tuesday’s third day of our CSD Profile of a Graduate work session. This dynamic session brought together students, staff, and parent/family/community partner representatives from across our district to collaboratively refine the guiding vision of our PreK-12 educational system. Developed as a key component of the Strategic Planning process for Roadmap ‘27, the Profile of a Graduate outlines the essential knowledge, skills, dispositions, and interpersonal competencies that a Centennial School District student will develop throughout their educational journey. This vision is designed to prepare our students for readiness and success in all their future endeavors. Thank you to our CHS students, staff, and families for lending their voices and supporting this important initiative. Your active participation strengthens our community and lays a solid foundation for the future of our district.
Bustin Basketball Tournament
On Thursday, CHS student-athletes, student coaches, and staff participated in the Bustin Barriers adaptive basketball tournament at Cleveland High School. Our CHS team delivered a dominant performance in both games, showcasing exceptional skills and sportsmanship. It was inspiring to see our athletes and coaches excel while truly enjoying the event and supporting CSD’s Strategic Plan – Roadmap '27, Goal #2: Supporting Every Student’s Well-being & Inclusion. Congratulations to everyone involved, and thank you for contributing to a memorable day of competition.
CHS Lunar New Year’s Celebration
I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to the CHS ACE for planning and facilitating Friday’s CHS Lunar New Year’s Celebration. Despite the need to reschedule due to recent snow days, we enjoyed one of the best turnouts in years. The event was a fun and outstanding cultural community celebration, and our students truly shined by embodying what it means to be an Eagle. Their efforts are a perfect example of our commitment to Goal #3: Centering Student Voice, Empowerment, & Leadership from CSD’s Strategic Plan – Roadmap '27. Please take a moment to check out the video and pictures from this memorable event.
Polar Plunge Fundraiser to Support CHS Unified Sports
Today’s Polar Plunge fundraiser was a shining example of our CHS community coming together to make a difference. I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to our dedicated CHS Team—including students Kenney Polson, Luke Chambers, and Blade Bland—as well as the staff members who helped organize and participate in this inspiring event. Participants braved the cold by plunging into icy water, running a 5K, and donating to support Special Olympics Oregon. While we’re not typically known for our competitive spirit, I’m proud to note that Blade Bland and Luke Chambers finished 4th and 5th in the 5K, respectively, showcasing the determination of our Eagles. Adding to the day’s excitement, our students had the chance to meet Drew Cargnie from KGW. Your efforts are paving the way for Unified Programs through Special Olympics at CHS, and they perfectly embody Goal #2: Supporting Every Student’s Well-being & Inclusion from CSD’s Strategic Plan – Roadmap '27. Initiatives like these truly demonstrate the spirit of an Eagle, and I am incredibly proud of our community's commitment and compassion. Thank you for making such a meaningful impact on our community.
Learn, Share, Do Community Resource Fair at CHS
Speaking of the importance of community, I was truly impressed and grateful for everyone who made Saturday’s “Learn Share, Do” Community Resource Fair possible. Our commitment to caring for our community is one of the central tenets of the CSD Strategic Plan – Roadmap '27, particularly the Centennial Profile of Graduate, and supporting CSD’s Strategic Plan – Roadmap '27, Goal #2: Supporting. It truly defines what it means to be an Eagle.
It was especially inspiring to see community partners—from civic organizations and local service providers to food banks and the Gresham Repair Café—unite in support of our Centennial Community at CHS. Thank you to everyone who contributed to this event and for making such a meaningful difference in our community.

CHS Counselor's Corner:
Message from CHS Counselors - Forcating
Forecasting! Students have started the process of forecasting classes for next year. Here are the highlights:
- 9th -11th-grade students will work with teachers, families, and peers to choose classes and will be taking the next three Wednesday Advisory to forecast (2/26 and 3/5). Counselors will not be available for many individual appointments, so make sure you are working with your advisory teachers with questions.
- Students will fill out a forecasting sheet and enter their choices into StudentVUE. This is a crucial step in us building the overall course matrix for the 2025-26 school year. Please make sure your student has entered complete choices into StudentVUE on or before March 5th.
- Students who wish to consult with their counselor about their choices can make appointments in March/April/May, and their choices can be edited.
- Students will have a final chance to review their choices in May. Our goal is to provide students with their 25-26 schedules before summer. At this time, schedules will be considered final, and we will be making very few schedule changes in the fall.
